I looked too. I wonder if last year wasn't a premonition for this year. I hope they can get it going again. I would love to go.

I asked on NWkite.com and the response was, the organizers are having a baby and maybe we should just do something informal. I looked at the calendar and the Feb 16th, 17th, and 18th weekend is Presidents day weekend. An extra day might be nice. Your wife could even let you go as a valentines gift. I still have to see if I can even go.

Sweet will see you all there. I live a hop skip and a jump away headed up to check snow on Friday will take some picts and post.

The President's day weekend is the Montana event so I mentioned the March 1st weekend on NWkite and PSkite to see what people think. I think that if there is wind there will be people kiting there so if you want to plan for that weekend it is as good of bet as anything else.

Anyone else heading to Jackson for Presidents Day weekend?

stetson05 - 28-12-2012 at 03:14 PM

Would be fun to go. I don't know if I can make it happen though. Let me think on how to ask my wife to go the week of Valentines Day.

The the Valentine stuff the weekend before, or better yet bring her with :-D Tell her you are taking her to the hot springs near Anaconda.

I thought I would let you all know the 10 th Annual Montana Snowkite Rodeo is going to be held over President's Day weekend ( Febuary 16-1Cool at the Jackson Hot Springs Lodge in the Jackson Montana. The snow pack is shaping up nicely and we should have some excellent kiting. Keep in mind that the rodeo is more of a gathering than an event. There are no entry fees, no set schedules or kiting locations, no poker runs or games, no sponsors, no superstars and no swag bags. All we can offer is a pool with 102 degree natural spring water mad bar service, a giant rustic lodge, and some of the best winter kiting Montana has to offer. It really is the best non-event going. I will have some Ozone Foils for you all to demo and hopefully some slingy products as well ( Yo Brave, you with me?).

If you would like to book a room at the lodge ( a highly recomended move) their number is (406)834-3151. You will regret it if you don't get a room, the next hotels are far away and you don't want to miss out on the magic. This is a busy weekend for the lodge so I would book soon. If you have a camper,I have a few spots lined out for electrical hookup. Also a solid way to enjoy the Rodeo.

Keep an eye on our forum at montanakitesports.com for the latest info. If you need to contact me my info is on the site. Give a call if you have questions or just want to find out if the rodeo is your kind of thing.
