You know you're an addict when...

soliver - 8-12-2012 at 06:31 PM

You buy a phone case to match the color scheme of your favorite kite...

I ordered a new phone recently and went to buy an accompanying otter box (trust me I need it) and got super excited to find one in the color scheme of my 4m PL Core

Dark grey and lime green,... SWEEEEEET

Hahaha

What are some of your goofy foibles that give you perspective on our common addiction?

Flyfish - 8-12-2012 at 06:37 PM

When I check AND reply to this posting!

erratic winds - 8-12-2012 at 09:34 PM

Is that case made in USA or china? I know otterbox moved a lot of stuff stateside!

Uh,... Don't see a "made in the USA" label on it... But I can't answer that for sure

Not intending to be rude, but that's a bit off the topic at hand... Why?

Btw...

I know this is a fairly common one, but I will often (especially if I haven't flown in a while) go to the garage and open out a selection of my kites / kit on the floor and admire then for a while. Perhaps give then a stroke :/

upgrade

CrankyThunder - 9-12-2012 at 07:29 AM

You know when your an addict when you upgrade your car to a suv so you can carry an appropiate selection of kites for the various wind speeds.

Then...... once you get the SUV, it takes half an hour to unload the kites and refurnature it to haul people.

Cranky

half hour is that all it takes you. it usually takes me an hour or longer.

Proletariat - 19-1-2013 at 01:36 AM

While I'm laid up recovering from ear surgery, I have twice now unwound all of my lines on all of my kites, checked them. Put them back. I dunno what the hell I was "checking" them for. Once I even convinced myself that it would go more smoothly if I was wearing my harness.

Yeah. I have a problem. It doesn't appear to be waning, either :)

soliver - 20-1-2013 at 01:53 PM

Oh cool, this one's been resurrected, eh,... Good I have a new one,...

You know your a addict when you're disappointed to sell a car ( even a car you've grown to seriously dislike) because it means you'll lose (and have to replace) all of your kiting stickers...

Yeah,... It's a problem

ikemiester - 20-1-2013 at 02:09 PM

When all of your high school (and some of college) money from your job and holidays goes to creating a quiver.

This one really hit home, I just bought another truck.
The sad part is that I still drive the BigKidKite truck to work and stop to play at the park on the way home. The other truck just sits in the driveway not being used. But I do have the new wheels and tires for the Sysmic buggy now.   I love this addiction.

You know you are an addict when you create a separate profile for the kite figurines you compulsively make.

I bow you you oh mighty Kokopelli Kiter maker. Maybe some day, if I am blessed enough, I will share the beach with you.

pyro22487 - 22-1-2013 at 11:39 AM

Oh a have one for the list. You know your an addict when you buy the worst looking trailer with the single purpose of turning it into a teardrop to put your kite stuff in. Oh how much for a rod iron kiter?

I think its the addiction, making me crazy with ideas.:ninja:

MDK - 22-1-2013 at 01:41 PM

I check kiting messages before work messages......I guess I still haven't figured out that work pays for kites :)

erratic winds - 22-1-2013 at 02:36 PM

SOLIVER- I asked about if it was made in the US because OtterBox is a customer of mine. They're getting a lot of good press for onshoring manufacturing jobs, I was just wondering if they had brought any of the Iphone5 work to the US...

SFKITER - 22-1-2013 at 03:04 PM

Ok, you are addicted. Before you get another kite you should get a buggy. Which one is your favorite? You might even consider selling the set that is your least favorite to finance a use buggy. How am I doing on helping your addiction?

SFKITER - 22-1-2013 at 11:18 PM

I get upset when their isnt any wind to fly my kites, it depresses me

snowspider - 25-1-2013 at 07:32 AM

It doesn't matter if the permagrin on my face is frozen from flying in 5 below F or that I so happy to be back on the ice hearing the rumble a roar of flying fast.

abkayak - 25-1-2013 at 12:51 PM

flyjump - 25-1-2013 at 06:25 PM

When you spend more money on kites in one year, then you do on your own car
