If you are opening your car door in 60mph winds, park facing into the wind. My door got ripped out of my friends grip and broke the hinges. Now I have less money for kites and tripsCheddarhead - 7-1-2013 at 09:50 PM

I am very sorry to hear that! And yes, that's one of those things it's hard to be aware of sometimes.Bladerunner - 8-1-2013 at 07:41 AM
Dang, I feel sorry for you and the friend.
You are such a decent guy, I'm sure you are putting the blame on your self. Meanwhile your friend feels it's His fault. Nobody wins . Accept the car

ouch, that makes getting the door to latch shut a bit hard.
it's the same as opening the door in a parking lot as someone pulls into the spot next to you as you are getting out.
Any thoughts of removing the door on the opposite side and using the truck as a dune buggy?
I hope the friendship is stronger than the door.RedSky - 8-1-2013 at 07:09 PM
Sorry to hear. I've opened the car door at the beach in 60mph winds to have it pulled from my grip. You'd be surprised how much strength it takes to
hold on to a door in those winds, you basically have no chance.snowspider - 9-1-2013 at 06:30 AM
oow that sucks. One more thing , don't even think about opening an umbrella while getting out of a vehicle. Thinking she would melt or burst into
flames if she gets wet ,wifey opened hers and BING out goes the windshield. I wasn't there and she gave a song and dance about how it happened but a
quick trajectory annalysis plus I know her so well , and it was pretty easy to figure out what happened. Also only let trained professionals install
remote car starters , neighbors son knocked down their garage while sipping morning coffee at the kitchen table so proud of his work the night before.RedSky - 9-1-2013 at 07:57 AM

I gotta know more about the umbrella taking out the windshield, got any pics? That sounds hilarious.snowspider - 9-1-2013 at 10:38 AM
She was sitting in the drivers seat and it was a fine misty day so she was fiddling with the thing while sitting there ,pressed the release and the
thing shot straight out above the stearing putting a beautiful big star there.rocfighter - 9-1-2013 at 10:57 AM
Patrick I am sure it was not her fault at all. I'm sure the umbrella was wired with a hair trigger. Those things are very dangerous you
know:shocked2:.
OH WAIT a cotton picS-P-A-M-L-I-N-K-n minute.:ticking: This is her fault. YOU NEVER OPEN AN UMBRELLA INDOORS. It's bad luck. See it's true!!joedy - 9-1-2013 at 12:33 PM

When you're married, it's NEVER her fault. This is a universal truth like the laws of physics.
