Heya,
I want to construct some kind of a back rest for my flexi bug. I was planning to build one based on a design I saw on one of the forums I'm on, using
various bits of PVC piping put together. this attaches to the buggy with a T or L shaped but of pipe that is put on the side rail, and then the back
rest attaches to that.
However my problem is that i have side rail covers, and a buggy bag. I cant see any way of making one work without either getting rid of both these
bits (which i use every time i go out) or chopping them up, and having to re-enforce the holes i make in the fabric, which is'nt at all ideal for me
for a number of reasons.
Any of you guys have any bright ideas ??

Thanks,

here's a link to mine- I attatched over the siderail pads and had no issues- the bag in back will be fine if you attach to just the siderails.

Hi, if you carfully cut the side rail padding round the attachment points of the roll bar, then hand sew them back up it should be ok.
i have seen people hang the buggybag off the roll bar as well, if you dont make the attachment points to angular that is.
there is a fair bit of room to allow for the attachment points, you probably wont have to alter the bag.
there is another option....

If you have a way to bend rigid conduit, the backrest I made for me Pokitetrash and Angus who sold his bigfoot to tridude is the way to go. It won't
break or bend and adds strength between the siderails.

Thanks for the info guys.
Beamerbob, that looks great! I think idealy i would like to have one made from SS, with some kind of a tee clamp to put it on. Sadly I don't have the
money or skills to do that at the mo!
Beachrights- that loks great, pretty much what im after. My side rail covers are about 3 inches in diameter though, so the fixing couldn't go on top..
I think ill have to cut and sew them, like kitebuggybagman says. Even though i have zero sewing skills :/

A muffler shop can bend the tubing. I used rigid conduit which is galvanized and very corrosion resistant. Stainless would work all the same. Kee
Klamps fasten everything together.

i have seen people put cable ties close to the clamps on the outside of the covers. If you turn the velcro edge and make that the "opening" for the
clamp to sit it may work quite well. remember to pull up the cable ties fairly tight.
Just seen you are based in the Uk.
