For Sale - 13m Guerrilla - my Barney Kite. It's big and purple.
Yup, it's purple with small yellow wingtips and no graphics as it was a Peter Lynn prototype. This kite flies perfectly and is nice, clean, and in
excellent condition with no damage or repairs. It does have extra spar pockets on it as shown in the photos here. http://ow.ly/heopC I fly with just one set of spars.
This kite makes an excellent introduction to ARCs for noobs or a nice inexpensive addition to the quiver for veterans if you have a hole in this size.
It comes kite only, with spars. No bag. No bar.
$185 plus shipping. SOLD!

Wow....that's a deal....
BeamerBob - 29-1-2013 at 10:33 AM
Sure would be a cheap and safe way to get into depower or arcs. Nice looking kite. I've never flown a Guerrilla.
flyjump - 29-1-2013 at 10:35 AM
Cooooooooooool colors! I wouldn't mind having this in the aresenal
thanson2001ok - 29-1-2013 at 10:40 AM
@BeamerBob - I hadn't flown a Guerrilla before flying this. I was impressed. I think they are under-rated. Definitely a nice, gentle kite especially
for a noob to ARCs or depower. Stable, not too lifty, predictable. This sucker just stayed in the air, solid as a rock without any surprises.

Hey ARC experts. I have a question from a prospective buyer. How will this fly on a medium Navigator bar?
g00fba11 - 29-1-2013 at 11:51 AM
I have flown Guerilla IIs on my medium Navi bar with no issues.
I personally prefer my customized 07 frankenbars, but my 2 smaller G2s have flown fine on both my medium Navi and my Griffin bar which is now at its
new home out east.
AnnieO - 29-1-2013 at 02:18 PM
Interested for sure. Problem is I have no other depower kites yet so no bars or lines. Maybe someone has some extra gear (bars/lines) lying around
that they would sell so I can buy your kite.
Mainekite - 29-1-2013 at 06:34 PM
What size Lei would this be comparable to?
ikemiester - 29-1-2013 at 06:36 PM
AnnieO, I saw your other post, if you are looking into depower, it may be good to get this and a new set of bar and lines that will fly with
everything. $185 is a kicking deal.

I can't believe this is still here......
Snake - 29-1-2013 at 10:51 PM
I want it!!! I love purple kites!!! I already have a 13m though.... I
need to start my job soon. All these awesome kites coming up for sale and I don't have the green to get the purple. My parents agreed I could take
some money out of savings to get another kite but I'm already getting some F-arcs. I'd really like to have it, but like I said I don't have enough
cash.

I'm curious about the multiple spar pockets. Are they the same size as standard spar pockets or a smaller diameter.
I'm wondering if it was to test spar flex/profile effect.
:dunno:
markite - 30-1-2013 at 08:05 AM
I've never seen one with extra spar pockets. I looked at the photos and didn't see any - which photo shows them? Are you looking at that black
re-inforcing webbing that extends internally from the corners? That black webbing was used to dissipate the stress from the tow points. Earlier arcs
had a lot more of this webbing used compared to current models that have a cleaner look.
thanson2001ok - 30-1-2013 at 10:36 AM
@Feyd - not sure what size the spar pockets are. I would have to pull if out and measure them
@Markite - Slides #9 and #14 show the spar pockets. They are right along the rib, blue in color.
@AnnieO - I can part with a bar and lines. Let me pull something out tonight and get back to you if you are interested.
markite - 30-1-2013 at 11:23 AM
ahh right, I did see that blue and wondered what that was. I can't imagine why the pockets are located where they are - but it is a prototype kite and
there were a lot with different ideas explored.
thanks

I don't think this is a guerilla prototype anymore. I think it's a guerilla that was used as a prototype for the spar mod. Peter lynn released the
original guerilla with just 2 spars. I'm not sure if it was PL or arc riders that came up with the mod but all it is is an extra spar on the 5th cell.
It made the kite turn and fly faster. Toward the end of when they produced guerillas they added the extra spar to production kites. This leads me to
belive that the kite is a guerilla that was made to test the extra spar idea. So you have the only purple guerilla in the world. How cool is that?
AnnieO - 30-1-2013 at 05:45 PM
I haven't ruled it out as yet. If you can find a way to make it RTF let me know the price you'd be looking for and we can go from there. I just saw
a juicy Montana 6 12.5 pop up but it is way out of my price range right now.

u2u sent re a bar. :wee:

Looks like a pre-production proto, or one that was between the G1 and G2 run made for experimentation. Purple has been used over the years for many of
prototypes. This one doesn't have either of the first or second generation graphics on it and I owned a couple of Gs and they didn't have that spar
pocket. A number of prototypes have passed through my hands and looking at the wingtip webbing it looks very similar to some of the other kites that
were manufactured outside of the standard production run to have a few to experiment with. There was a box full of assorted F arcs and many guerrilla
protos that I had a look through before they were distributed a while back for SLarc project and quite a few add ons and experiments happening on
them.
Either way it's a nice colour that others won't have and for me the Gs were a very easy forgiving kite. Not the grunt power of the next generations
but this is a nice user friendly kite and good size.
Snake - 30-1-2013 at 06:43 PM
Here's a link that says they were distributed with the extra spars.

Few more comments how sweet Guerilla is and I'll be pulling my own ad down so I keep the kite...
BeamerBob - 30-1-2013 at 09:44 PM
Isn't that funny how all the good talk about the kite you are selling makes you wonder why you are selling it?
thanson2001ok - 30-1-2013 at 09:56 PM
@beamerbob - funny you should say that.... I was just thinking I should increase the price. Maybe that would make it sell faster.

A good kite is always missed. You know you haven't flown it in a while and you don't consider yourself a hoarder (though wife wonders looking at your
quiver) but it must be a "light version" of a feeling old folks have pulling out their '68 cobra out on a sunny day - even though your new, modern
vehicle sits next to it which might replace it on the road or in the garage but it won't replace it in your heart.
There's some beauty in "good old watch" not counting that they do "measure time" quite well...
grigorib - 31-1-2013 at 03:52 PM
nuff poetry...once you've got 2 or more, some loves gotta go....
Snake - 2-2-2013 at 10:47 PM
It may be a pre production 12m. Peter lynn decided to change to a 13m instead before mass production so you may have a real jem. Look at the last post
in this thread on kite fourm.
http://www.kiteforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=4301&st...
On a side note I have a 13m guerilla on the way. It should be here by next weekend. I'll put in a review for this kite when I get a chance to fly it,
provided it has hasn't sold by then and the wind is good. I also might include the 13m's bigger brothers in the review, the 15m and the 18m.
