I just grabbed a 9'6" Coscto popout for $399... (Wavestorm) last Summer....on a whim..
Great for the days where there's no wind.
I didn't want to make a big investment, because I didn't know if it was going to be for me...but I found is so fun that I now want a bigger 11' and
wider...I'm 6-3 and 210lbs and the 9-6 is a bit wobbly for me but an awesome workout...keeping the core in tune..
Good luck! and most all have fun with it....Snake - 3-2-2013 at 09:16 PM
Do like I did, get an old windsurfing rig for free and use the old board like a SUP board. Then you can paddle board or get a huge sail and sail
around in winds to low for a kite at around 5mph. I found it to be very relaxing to be sailing on water thet looked like glass.Beaudryjoel - 6-2-2013 at 09:43 AM

I've got time on normal ones and inflatos.... definitely looking at buying an inflatable one now that I know they work just fine...beachrights - 7-2-2013 at 08:31 PM
Have and still use an old Windsurfer board but they are usually unstable compared to a regular board. We have many stores that sell cheap paddle
boards for $299 around here. Still don't understand the attraction to them- gets boring after awhile.
Guess I am a speed freak!Nomadic - 7-2-2013 at 09:50 PM
We have some good paddle boarding on the Colorado River here..
I personally love the NRS inflatables.. for ease and stability. Good in whitewater.. depending on your personal balance and ninja skills.Snake - 7-2-2013 at 10:35 PM

I'd have to disagree, atleast for the board I have. I have a 14 foot O'brein sensation. Once I brought it out to the lake and saw some paddle boarders
and they thought it was a paddle board. I let them try it and they said it was more stable than there begginer board. I let the guy, his girlfriend
and there dog have a quick ride together on the board while I rigged up the sail. He offered to buy it from me but I declined his offer. I have a plan
for this summer to rig a kite to the boards mast slot and use it like a kite cat. That is if the water isn't slime.tridude - 23-2-2013 at 11:54 PM
How much do you weigh? Ocean, lake, or river usage? Regardless, the Naish Nalus are great all rounders. Just the right amount of rocker and concave
for waves but not so much as to hurt the paddling requirements.............and of course the bamboo finish looks amazing............keep in mind your
weigh and board volume are very very important......bourgeois.jason - 24-2-2013 at 03:20 AM
I have never found SUPs attractive. I enjoy riding a canoe or kayak, which are much more versatile, in my opinion. Canoes can fit more gear, people,
kids, and/or animals than SUPs. I would not put my 1 year old on a SUP, but I can easily put him in a canoe (with a life jacket, of course). Gear
stays dry in a canoe without having to put it in to plastic bags. You can sit down in a canoe or stand up, if you want.
Maybe I need to try one, but I just have never understood the hype. :dunno:Flyfish - 24-2-2013 at 08:11 AM
