On their scuba models they entire lens area can have your prespcription applied to it (through a company called SportEyes). But it adds to the cost:

They might offer something like that for the Model 338 in the future.

Otherwise, SportEyes that makes inserts for Zeal, Liquid Image and similar goggles.

The already have inserts for the Liquid image 335 & 337 (HD) Ski goggles.

Actually the inserts are cheaper than replacing the standard shield with a prescription one.

Using inserts also means that you don't have to pay the prescription upcharge if you just want to have a different color shield (flash, gray, yellow) for your goggles.

Thanks Sam. I get my goggles and glasses from Zenni optics . commmmm now and my prescription goggles I have had about 3 years cost me a killer $35.00 I think:o. I guess I will stick with them for now. Unless of course these guys want to let a guy test a pair and write a review!!!!

I have been working with this company for a couple of years now and they are getting closer to a usable model for summer use, in areas like Ivanpah. I have the HD model for scuba diving.
Rockfighter, good luck on the try and write a review bit. They dont do anything for free. I had to buy mine and try them out to see that they didnt fit as they said and then I paid to send them back for the right size. At least they listen and talk to me now about new stuff for the rest of us.

Why on earth hasn't someone combined the HUD/GPS from the Recon goggles and a camera yet? I saw those Scuba mask cameras in Hawaii and thought it'd happen soon but still not?

It's so much easier to lust after ONE product

Get ready for some credit card meltage/spontaneous combustion.....

Recon Instruments brings action camera viewing into your goggles

Alert: Notice the top icon in the vertical column on the right and the display at 1:00.

There's still some seperation between the two components, but that not necessarily a bad thing with regards to power usage and more importantly all-your-eggs-in-one-basket, ice-cream cone in the mud puddle breakage.

Sam

Soon.... most of Recons connectivity is currently through Bluetooth. They are planning to switch from that to Wi-Fi (last sentence, second to last paragraph).

When they do that, anyone with a GoPro Hero 2 & Wi-Fi Bac or an GO Hero 3 (with built-in Wi-Fi) will be able to party with a pair of Recon Goggles.

Hmmmm... thinking GoPro and Recon should funnel some kickback money to me for all the free below the radar PR.
