New wind powered toy for me.

My dad’s friend recently gave me his sailboat a 1983 Com-Pac 19. He purchased it a few years ago and due to back issues he has never used it. I helped him put it in and take it out of the water last year but it was never even sailed. I have been around sailboats most of my life we would spend our weekends down on our Irwin 32 the on Barnegat Bay NJ in the summer when I was growing up. I have also had a few small day sailors over the last 10 years. This will be the biggest boat I have owned so far.

Now my problem is to find the time. I have a 2 year old, we just moved over the winter and have a lot of work to do around the house in the spring and my other hobbies kiting and cycling which I barley have time for now. The good thing is I have a place to store it. The slip is paid for this summer so I will put it in the water but probably not next year. It will be fun a few years down the line when my daughter gets a little older.

I still own 5 sailboats here in Texas. Like they say, a boat is just a place to throw money away. The next line is a classic from sailors. "The best 2 days of my boating life wsd the day I bought my first boat, and then the day I sold it! Good luck and have fun.

This is very similar to ours. Very nice find I hope you have lots of fun on it.
TheKidd didn't consider us sailing if the toe rails were not under water!!
