This is just a friendly reminder that due to insurance needs at WBB, the event will now be a NAPKA event. This will require that you visit. NAPKA Website and join. It is $40 a year. So if you join now you will be set to go for both spring and fall WBB. As well as any other NAPKA
events. Buggy pilots need to have number plates, and Land boarders need to have a reflective armband that is now going to be the standard for Stand up
riders. I will have some with me if you need them.
Please do not wait till the last minute to get signed up. The sooner the better that way we can get your card mailed to you. Also will keep me from
having to spend hours on end signing folks up instead of riding the beach.
Again if you have any questions, please contact me and I will be glad to help.
ThanksBEC - 25-2-2013 at 03:06 PM
Rich,
Are there any rules or restrictions on the number plates..As you know I'm making my own...Just want to make sure there isn't a problem with font or
color or ?..As long as the buggy is numbered and we are registered then are we all set? 2 side plates for now...maybe one on the rear.
Can't wait to see you and tear it up with everyone! :Dshehatesmyhobbies - 25-2-2013 at 03:16 PM
Bruce, the numbers should be more block style. Napka guidelines suggest 5 1/2 inch numbers at least a 2 inch diameter line. I realize that in some
cases that would be nearly impossible. As long as I can see the numbers from a reasonable distance, You are fine. I am not going to run around
measuring numbers. The number size is more for the racing side of things.(Class 8 Rules).
In your case, it will read as US822 no spacing.cheezycheese - 25-2-2013 at 03:26 PM

Does it mean I have to have placards on all my demo buggies as well? Or can I wear one of those arm bands. I can even make up a few t-shirts with US52
on the front and back so I'll be covered in any buggy. covered in any buggy,
hahahahahaBladerunner - 26-2-2013 at 07:46 AM
Good point Jeff,
What I was hoping we would see is anybody who is not tied to a specific buggy and actively flying kites should have their own arm band. Stand Up
Riders who are registered will show their numbers. Visitors will have an armband marked V .
This way whoever is trying out your buggy should have an armband or plates of their own.
It gets complicated when you will have multi buggies and loaning them to other buggy riders. An attempt to plate every buggy is the ideal .
I think the objective is to be sure that the pilot can be identified by the public one way or another. Armbands are a simple way to do this. If we
can accomplish that we can then observe how it works and improve things if required.
I wonder how buggy riders would feel about also wearing armbands. We would then have one unified ID system and folks could bling out their plates to
their hearts delite. Using class 8 for races. ??
More complicated than I thought

:puzzled::o
Some people might go from buggy to board to static to...?...
Armband may be a must for some/all.
ID/NAPKA # should go/show w/ flyer at all times...more than vehicle(s)?
*Will any town administrator or constable even come down to check people ...realistically?No. Realistically..we
have to police ourseves.
Lets just stencil permit #'s on kites...:wink2:.........:P...or tatoo on your face...:P
:singing::wee::ticking:
*Why?.. I worry about a 'bandit' rider getting hurt w/ no Napka membership..suing town, and closing future
events.
Please show copy of birth certificate, medical Mar-Obama card, Drivers licence, liquor permit, last report card, marriage licence, Best Buy card, SS
#, American Red Cross Blood donor card, your 'green' card, a note from your mother.....:P

I hope I can remember all of this stuff, would hate to show up and be an outsider, black sheep, bas*#%* child, unwanted, different, oh the heck with
it, I will were my placard on my head with big red and white circles on them and a couple of numbers. just hope the staples I use to hold it on will
come out later.:shocked2:
What about my truck? does it need an arm band too?shehatesmyhobbies - 26-2-2013 at 12:31 PM
Well, I was going to state, the demo buggies could go with out. People would only be in them for a few runs then the next guy would be jumping in and
so on and so forth. This would make a good point that armbands would be a better fit when changing from buggy to buggy. The township does not require
us to use I.D. Plates, armbands, vest or anything else. They just require us to use Insurance for the event. The side plates, Armbands are a
requirement of NAPKA, Not even the insurance company, They are a way of identifying that a person is within the group. Also a means for the public to
identify a member in case of an incident. The insurance company only requires the signed waivers.
But it does bring a point up that may need more discussion. This is the first time for the WBB to be involved with NAPKA. I am sure we will have to
work some bugs out. It is one of the first NAPKA events on the East Coast, if not the first. I will do my best to make sure it is smooth for everyone
involved.
As many of you know, we have yet to have an incident that required any "township" members, or police get involved. I want to keep it that way. I will
have a box of the armbands with me that will be available for those that need them. They will be available at the same cost we pay.
As far as static kite flyers, they would not be required to wear anything, NAPKA doesn't kick in till you mount your ride.
This is a family, fun event, not races. I would hope to not make it too complicated for anyone. I wish we didn't have to have permits and insurance to
have the event, but we do.bugymangp - 28-2-2013 at 11:39 AM
hey gang
i`m sending my in today.

i want to make sure i`m all legal. :wee:shehatesmyhobbies - 7-3-2013 at 01:14 PM
Hey everyone, just want to put this info out there, seems like some people may be confused how this works.
If you plan on Piloting a buggy, or riding and ATB board, you must register for NAPKA. If you are the spouse of someone attending that does not plan
on doing any piloting, there is no need for you to Join NAPKA.
If you are a NAPKA member and you want to bring your son along so he can give it a try, he can be your guest, just sign a waiver and you are good.
You do not need to join NAPKA if you only plan on static flying, or just hanging out with the rest of us. NAPKA isn't necessary till you sit in the
buggy and grab the kite handles. Or jump on a board and grab the handles.Chad - 7-3-2013 at 01:53 PM

Get well Dave!doneski - 12-3-2013 at 07:12 AM
My 2 cents on buggy riders and armbands. I choose an armband over something mounted on my buggy. Armbands show that the person is a NAPKA member
no matter what they are being pulled on. All of my friends share their mountain boards and buggies and at WWBB the person using my buggy may not me
me. Many of us have more than one thing that we're pulled on and this means I only need one set of numbers.shehatesmyhobbies - 20-3-2013 at 10:16 AM
I see that many of you have started to get signed up for NAPKA. I appreciate it greatly.
Let's keep it going, I would love to spend as much time out on the beach as possible. I will do on site if needed, but so much easier to take care of
it now!
Can't wait to see everyone! Not long now!cyclesteel - 22-3-2013 at 11:42 AM

it with you to WBB. I will have extras with me as well.
For those of you who have already signed up, thanks so much, this is more beach time for me! For those of you that have not signed up yet, please get
signed up this week. The next 6 days will be very hectic! I will be doing sign ups on site if I have to!
Don't forget to get those number plates made up, There are several really nice fancy number plates already showing their heads! What do you have in
mind!
