the diagonal lines are the kite lines.Disregard them. I'm just asking about the lightning bolts. Thanks!

If you making something out of this, then you just need to turn the lightning bolts around (180) so they go the other way to the leading edge.

Give us some more details? just curious.

dang ,I had it backwards. Ahh crap!

BEC - 28-2-2013 at 07:04 PM

You can actually see it both ways now that I stare at it long enough... Depends of your POV

Kokopelli Kiter - 28-2-2013 at 07:16 PM

Do you think if I painted it :red tips, white lightnin bolts, and blue top and bottom,it would look right?

BEC - 28-2-2013 at 07:22 PM

Yes..close enough...You could also fill in the negative space with actual nylon...So red edge with nylon..paint the one piece of metal white and fill in the blue with nylon...

There are other flexifoil blade schemes too...Just type flexifoil blade into search engine and hit the images...there are a ton to look at.

That would make a great light for a wall.

I have pondered this same thing. Just have not gone that route yet. trying to stay in the "stick figure" kind of look. The kites are the hardest part. You get almost done and in a microsecond ,you got a piece of crap. But,if it was easy ,everyone would make their own.

The pic is macro, the sail is only 7 inches long. LOL It would be ALOT easier if it was bigger. The wire is .052",a real PITA to weld together.
