Legendary, Rare 6m Phanny SOLD

Get ready for the insane spring winds coming soon!

This appears in excellent shape, and flies perfectly and stable.

It may have a little sand or stains here or there, but fabric seems tip-top, unfadded and no strange noises or topskin wobbles noticed in the (admittedly) sane wind ranges I flew it in.

The bag has one of the two main zippers off-track (prob easy to fix, I just use the other one). One of the collapsible sticks has loose elastic, so you have to do a little tucking to push it together (again, prob an easy cinching needed).

As you can see, it comes with the shorty bar and lines. (and believe me, you won't need a longer bar to control this fast, little banshee). Now, the original CL (included) has seen better days - and I preferred something closer to the more convenient '07 config. So, I substituted an '07 tophat and leash-swivel from a Catamaran-type setup. It has some industrial-strength marine loops and hooks on it that clip right onto my Access Harness's D-Loop. You can always replace this with the original loop in the bag or modify it easily some other way.

The ONLY reason(s) I'm letting this go (and break up my once full set) is because:

A. My prototype 9m Phanny seems to handle all the higher winds I'd dare go out in.

B. !@#$%^ TAX TIME!!!!!
(which means, due to my arrangements, I need the cash within 10 days or so). So, if there's no serious interest here, then off to a flash Fleabay short sale it goes.

I don't always fly kites in 40 mph winds, but when I do, I fly my Phantom 6m.

What is the useble wind range of this kite? I have no experience with arcs. I'm assuming the bungee/elastic thing is just to keep the sticks together in the bag like a tent pole but not really necessary for the integrity of the assembled stick? In the picture it looks like there are three leading edge inlets - does this inflate like a FS or are those not really inlets and it inflates like larger sized arcs with zippered inlets?

What kind of safety system do these kites use? Do they just flag out on one line or??

You could probably use this kite starting at 20 mph, but it won't kick in strong till you are over 30 mph winds. Other kites would be better till you have over 25-30 mph winds is another way to put it.

Bungee is just to keep the spars oriented correctly till installed. Spar pockets hold them in place in the kite.

It has a zipper for inflate and another for deflate. The vents are to top off the internal pressure and maintain it after launch just like on most every other arc.

- P6 can be static flown in surprisingly low winds,
looped and moving in the low 20s,
and should hold most down well into the 40s
- even higher for you Big Boys out there

- Tent pole, 3-piece sticks that fit right into the bag with the kite.

- In high enough wind, I just sand the back edge down, tug the front lines, and it inflates itself quickly thru the inlet holes. (Fastest inflating Phanny ever!) :karate:

- They flag out on one line, and my '07 bar-style swivel mod now lets you do loops without getting the leash too tangled.

(BTW, I just discovered I will be getting a bigger-than-expected paycheck sooner this month...which means this gem may just stay with it's big brothers) :singing:

Man oh man the d'ark force is calling. Man I wish I didn't have to finish my teardrop trailer. You d'ark side people are so cruel and evil.

Seems not too long ago this would have been a bidding war lasting all of ten minutes before the highest bidder was proclaimed. How is this still here??:ticking:

I would be all over this if I hadn't just gotten some F-arcs (Thanks Kent!). It would fit nicely over my venom for those days were you feel like the sail. If I were you I would keep her with her big brothers and ride them till you upgrade, them sell them as a complete quiver.

Proletariat - 20-3-2013 at 10:24 PM

I love how everyone keeps talking about getting "SOME" f-arcs... not one... some. I'm gonna go ahead and say it, Kent: I think you made PKF go a little f-arc crazy (which is awesome) :)
