Kites - for sale - UPDATE

airin - 12-3-2013 at 02:59 PM

I've held off for over a year before finally making this big decision. Now the time has come, I'm selling my kite gear because it is just sitting neglected. Outrigger canoe racing has taken over my life and having recently made it onto the masters women's team that is heading to Hawaii to race this summer and to Rio in 2014, I knew I won't have time to get the foils in the air and the buggy wheels rolling.

So, here it is, the last of my kite kit 'garage sale'. Payment can be made via paypal. Contact me for more info, if needed. PM here or email me at: windchaser333ATgmailDotcom

KITE PRICES REDUCED!

YOU KNOW THIS IS AN AWESOME DEAL - includes lines, handles!

SOLD 3 m Ozone Little Devil - blue and white - older model $90 US, includes lines and handles and shipping in Canada or to the continental USA

SOLD 4 m PKD Buster - blue and white - older model $85 US, includes lines and handles and shipping in Canada or to the continental USA

SOLD 4.9 m New Tech Ballistic - blue and white - older model $65 US PLUS shipping, includes lines and handles.

Buggy Tow Bar - made from PVC pipe specifically for towing the bug behind a bike - be best to arrange a local pick up for this accessory as it'd unreasonable to try ship. $45

FYI - the PL folding bug, the Hornet, Pansh, and the PL Base harness are now all sold - thanks!

These are great prices on a ready made quiver. Someone new should scoop up the whole lot and be set. Airin sorry to lose you from the sport, but I understand the value of free time. Good luck in your endeavors! :bigok:

jgorm - 12-3-2013 at 03:54 PM

Can you post pics of the ozone? is it RTF?

It says "includes lines and handles". Do you mean are they attached or something else?

We will miss you.

Bladerunner - 12-3-2013 at 05:14 PM

Nobody misses Airin as much I as do ! I fully understand how paddling is a more reliable sport where we live. + naturally She is excelling at the sport !

The Peter Lynn folder is pretty pimped out. The seat makes it a comfortable ride but slightly more difficult to fully fold down. The seat + splash guard + the fact the buggy is in excellent shape make this a good deal.

I think if somebody was wanting it delivered to Seaside Easter or spring SOBB , or WBB ( up to BK ) it could be arranged ?

Trusted seller ! :bisou:

KAZEDOKA - 12-3-2013 at 07:38 PM

What is a "Scorpion Custom Padded Seat" Please elaborate? Thanks

bigkid - 12-3-2013 at 07:55 PM

I have been looking for a folding PL for some time. How dare you post one now:lol:, I have way too many things in the fire and way to much $$$$ out for the trip. I have to ask if Airins last name is Murphy. Murphys law is just to much for me at this time.:flaming:
Good deal, wish it was after Jibe or last month, I would have jumped on it.

Thanks for all your comments and well wishes guys! You know I'm going to miss the sport and miss the pals I've made here on the forum and out in the park and on the beaches even more!

The PL Hornet and Pansh Blaze are now sold.

Thanks for your PM's about some of the other gear - I'm heading over there to reply right now.

Fletcht, we'll see if we can work something out in terms of getting the buggy down to you...maybe the local guys can do a shuttle for us. :D

PL Folding Buggy - SOLD!

sunset-Jim - 13-3-2013 at 06:10 AM

I will be around then and yes I can hold on to it for ya.

erratic winds - 13-3-2013 at 07:19 AM

I'm sad to see anyone go from the sport, but always glad to see someone simply progress to more!

Best of luck to you Airin, but...c'mon, you won't be gone from kites forever just cause you're getting into an outrigger canoe....

jgorm - 13-3-2013 at 08:11 AM

Can I get some pictures of the ozone and buster? I may be interested in one or both of them if they are in good condition. Are there any tears or repairs? Are the lines in decent condition? Do they come with a storage bag?

Jgorm, please email me at: windchaser333ATgmailDOTcom and I will send you photos.

Kites are in good shape, have had some use but no tears, no rips. Lines and handles are in good condition. Kites did not come with storage bags so I don't have any original bags to pass on to you, I've kept them in nylon stuff sacks.

Thanks BigKid!

Basically the New Tech is a great entry level foil for those who need something for higher winds but don't feel like getting spanked while they're out in the buggy.

This specific New Tech doesn't scream 'crispy' but it is in good shape overall and a good deal, especially with lines and handles in, at this price.

I agree, while New Tech may not be top of the top when it comes to kite companies it is a decent beginner kite. Well behaved . RTF makes it a very good deal. Lines and handles alone cost that much. Almost like a free kite for the price of lines and handles.

bigkid - 19-3-2013 at 06:21 PM

The Ballistic when new was sold for 399.00. A few went for less when New Tech decided to drop the kite and replace it with the Thunderfoil.
I have one that came with a bar and handles. One of the 2 liners with the wrist strap brake setups, was one of the kites I learned to board with. By the way, Airin is selling this at a killer price.

And those kites did not have a crinkly finish (like others) on them when they were new. I have a can of sealer for kites if you want it to be crinkly.

MikeMT - 19-3-2013 at 08:01 PM

its a good deal, just dont think I need it. Just got my PL xplore 4m and a slightly bigger 4.9 may not get much more pull in lower winds that i am wanting.

csa_deadon - 20-3-2013 at 04:12 AM

The New Tech Ballistic is a great entry kite. I do believe airin picked this kite up from me a couple of years ago. This kite is loads of fun on low wind days. Will fly in next to nothing, which can be fun when fly a 4.9m wing like you would a really sllloowww rev!

You have a good memory, Sean, this is indeed the kite I got from you.

I like your description of flying it like a rev, very apt!

Usually up the gorge. We aren't coming back until the 8th though. I thought about offering but I didn't know how well it would work out. You probably don't want to drive this way on your way to the coast either. We can work something out if you want to though.

airin - 20-3-2013 at 05:23 PM

All kites are now SOLD!

Thanks guys!

And a big thanks to Bladerunner for transporting kite and buggy down south!

Thanks, but I will just be patient. I will be in sunset area on the 12th.
