So things all worked out yesterday for my wife and I to take the kids to the park for the maiden voyage of the FRANKEN-TANDEM. There was just enough
wind for it to work. I showed up about 30 minute earlier than Ashli and the girls to try to get a few test runs in and get a feel for the extra length
behind me. Just at a great big lull all the kiddos showed up.
I got set up just in time for a tasty extended 9mph gust to show and gave my 2 older girls a good 10mph run back and forth across the field a couple
of times.
As soon as we took off my toddler got very upset and wanted a turn. After a couple of runs back and forth, there was a lull, so Ashli sat down in the
tandem with the littles one in her lap.
The wind didn't cooperate and was a little too shifty. It moved from westerly, to southerly, back to westerly, and ended up at northerly. I had to
reset the gear several times and only ended up getting to move about 10ft.
So after resetting several times, little Vivi was getting too impatient and it was getting near time to drop the big girls off at their grandparents
for an overnight (WUHOO!!!)
Overall it was successful, while there were literally only 2 or 3 runs back and forth, I really got a good feel for it and was able to give the girls
a good understanding of the safety concerns, and when we were good and moving, John Holgate was certainly right,... Most of what I heard were squeals
of delight. They really had a great time and I can't wait for some good wind and an opportunity to ride them more than just back and forth a few
times.
Btw, I also got good feeling for my VTT-XR hybrid,... I think it's gonna work as a great buggy.

Looks like a great setup and lots of smiley faces. Hope the winds are a bit more cooperative next time. Now you just have to train them to operate
the GoPro
btw, if you get an old road bicycle tyre, you can cut a couple of lengths and contact cement it to your footpegs for a bit of extra grip...
