Although I couldn't find any rules indicating that you couldn't buggy around East beach, I was pulled over by the beach patrol and told me that I can
play with the kite but not rolling along the beach with a buggy.
I went in via a free public entrance between the Steward beach and East beach and rode into the East beach area. I was stopped and told no wheels
along the beach. So I went back and found an area that people can drive in and there were trucks parked overall the places. Then another beach
patrol caught upon me and told me that I cannot buggy there either.
I guess the summer season started in Texas, and we'll have to wait till the winter season then. I wonder if Jamaica beach would have the same issue.
Then the only place left is San Luis Pass and Surf Side? Maybe I'll just start practice my board instead in summer.

I like San Luis Pass better anyway

hmmm the only place ive ever been stopped was in the state park boundary... south of the state park, no problem... that was a couple years back... san
luis does have better beaches, and its only a few more minutes away

When the crowds start showing up on east beach that is when you need to go somewhere else. In the past buggying at east beach has never been a
problem off season.

SLP is better (it's a little further than just a few minutes, lol); however the chances of getting your vehicle (even trucks) stuck in the sand just
to get in there is annoying. Also, there was always the danger of some mad truck speeding through our kite lines and almost run over us when we try
to point out there were kite lines on the ground...
There were quite a few kitesurfers at the East beach that day and I was the only buggy there; although I was the only one having fun since the wind
was slower than the forecast =]. I think I'll switch to water in the summer season unless several of us are going to SLP.

I've never been stopped anywhere on Galveston island. It's not the location. It's the time of year. It's dangerous to buggy anytime that the
weather is good enough for crowds to gather. The patrol were pretty much telling you that it's unsafe. That's why I've already switched over to
water by this time of year.
