All the above with the perhaps the exception of the "flair" (well, maybe a little flair ). You definitely get a boost coming out of the turn and if in lower winds it does keep the kite moving better as well. And yes it does take that single loop of the lines out too. It's really quite easy once you have the upwind turn itself down halfway decent. It actually feels more natural to add the back loop. As you are bringing it down, just keep it going into the back loop and hold on.

I agree with ya Bobby on having someone like Eli to chase around and learn from. I've been pretty fortunate to have him and others such as Jon, Richard, Gabe and Frank right here in my own neighborhood.

I've been watching that upwind turn with the loop thrown in over and over again since I saw this thread. I've been walking it in the living room as well lol. Another awesome video Eli!
