dirtslide - 12-5-2013 at 01:20 PM

Yes carbon fiber is always trick and the S1 is set low so the pan will be added saftey for my butt ,gotta have one ,just hope shipping isnt a killer.

BeamerBob - 12-5-2013 at 01:28 PM

I'm chatting with them about one of these as well Ken. Maybe we can share shipping across the pond.

dirtslide - 12-5-2013 at 03:17 PM

That sounds great Bob ,looks like I may need fly to Vegas soon so if we get them sent out to you I will pick it up there or if not you could just send it up to me .Let me know either way and how we can work out payment to dragonfly and shipping .thanks Bobby.

BeamerBob - 12-5-2013 at 04:03 PM

Should be easy to work out Ken. I'll chat with you as things develop.

dirtslide - 13-5-2013 at 10:44 AM

looks like Mike may want one as well ,are there any others who may be interested ,A order of 5 get us a discount so if there are any takers now is the time to step up. Great product for around 70 dollars and looks like Dragon fly will cover shipping. Let Bob know if you want one .Side note ,Bobby I would like to talk to you about the Landsegler wheels ,that is my choice for the playa .need to know about availability and cost ,thanks

that's not really a disc wheel by my definition.
it's just a regular wheel with the round piece of CF tie-wrapped to the spokes....opposite of weight savings...perhaps better aerodynamics(?).
a real disc wheel, by my definition, is a wheel with no spokes. the hub and rim is supported by the actual disc. I have some and they cost about $350 a piece if you can find them.
the disc is an integral part of the wheel and not just a piece stuck to the wheel.
Paul

BeamerBob - 13-5-2013 at 12:06 PM

Comments about Landsegler wheels responded to in another thread.

dirtslide - 13-5-2013 at 12:08 PM

I think that the cover is more for safety, as those 17 inch Sysmic wheels look like they could do some chopping if any part of your body happened to get close enough. :o so not so much carbon wheel as cool protective cover made of carbon and in the case of my S1 I'm
not looking to save any weight just piece of mind that I come back from the beach with all my fingers.;)

sounds good to me. they look good too.

MyAikenCheeks - 13-5-2013 at 08:24 PM

Maybe I shouldn't put in my 2 cents here but this is just a thought that you big time buggy guys might want to think about.
I just got back from JIBE and was in awe of the Sysmic 17" disc wheels on Vans and Jeff's buggies and they sure did look cool. Although I didn't get a shot of piloting either of the spoke wheel buggies I did have a few questions regarding the ride, handling and such BUT this question was in the back of my mind. Here goes.

#1. Most of the public beach and land based buggy events have been well supervised and for the most part the worst things that have happened to spectators that I been aware of has been a kite drop on their heads and possibly some line rash. I haven't heard of anyone being injured by a buggy making contact with spectators and lets pray that will never happen But... let's face it, it is a possibility and we all should prepare to face that and keep our sport as safe as possible. The look of spoke wheels are really cool and all that but might I suggest that spoke wheels at public viewed events be covered with discs?

#2. If and when you big buggy guys in this sport, and you know who you all are, EVER GET SERIOUS about RACING and some SERIOUS COMPETITION, LIKE THE EUROPEANS DO, then I think that spoke wheel covers would be mandatory.

BTW. WHY is there not a racing competition program here in the USA ??????? Why can't you all start one and get to a World Cup competition eventually? I believe that there are several U.S. riders that can give Stephan van Bommel and the rest some serious runs for their money.
And....
What's the N.A.P.K.A. doing about being a real sanctioning body and get a buggy competition program started at all our events? Jeff (big Kid) said that someone in the US has started or has the paperwork necessary but hasn't moved forward with it. WHY NOT?

ChrisH - 13-5-2013 at 10:14 PM

Ken, U2U sent!

dirtslide - 14-5-2013 at 09:28 AM

Ok looks like we have two more pilots interested in saving there ass. Ken 3,Chris 2, have both jumped on board so with Bobby, Mike and myself , we will qualify for the buy 5 and get a discount plus shipping will be split so price is getting better :D Bob how would you like to set this up ,if you don't mind organising this transaction.

rocfighter - 14-5-2013 at 09:55 AM

Do these pans only fit certain buggies? Or does he make them semi universal? I have a Libre V-max.

dirtslide - 14-5-2013 at 10:14 AM

I asked the same question to Dragonfly yesterday and the response was that they are designed around the Apexx but will fit and or can be installed on any of the big buggies currently on the market today so I would say yes it will fit your V-max Roc. They also mentioned that the pan can be shaped and drilled to fit different buggies and if you check them out at there Facebook page you can see what other pilots have come up with for mounting, in one pic you will see a awesome front mount that wraps around the front of the side rail tubes and looks amazing ,very cool :cool2:

rocfighter - 14-5-2013 at 01:27 PM

Thanks Ken that's good info. Now the million dollar question. What do these beasties cost. I have some rubber coated stuff Pauly gave me. But this seems better! I like Carbon fiber stuff.

dirtslide - 14-5-2013 at 02:18 PM

The price is very reasonable , if you were to buy one the cost is 50 euros and shipping over here is 30 euros ,but if we get 5 or more the price drops and we all plan on splitting the shipping so it looks like around 60 USD should be close if we do the group buy.

ChrisH - 15-5-2013 at 03:35 PM

What about a front fender? Can't just buy one piece of carbon fiber! The one that's on my bug now seems to be identical to the one they make in carbon fiber.

dragonfly carbon products - 21-5-2013 at 06:58 AM

hi guys, don't forget to tell me how many plates you want, it could be cheaper to send one package than 5 if somes can delivery it to you ?

We make disc covers for the Sysmic wheels lenticular, we have to put it in europe on races, i am waiting for landsegler wheels to see if it is possible to make concave covers too; sysmic covers are plates !

For the fender, the GT race guard and protask guard are now available, also we expect to od the apexx guard asap too ;)

Also Apexx ll soon have our protos of belly pan, specially shaped

BeamerBob - 21-5-2013 at 08:50 AM

I am seeing who else is interested. 3 pans to order as of now.

dirtslide - 21-5-2013 at 09:31 AM

I need 3 for up here in Canada and the one for you Bobby so that is 4 so far.

jooopy - 21-5-2013 at 09:41 PM

& me makes 5. :D

BeamerBob - 22-5-2013 at 08:23 AM

Joopy where are you located?

ChrisH - 22-5-2013 at 01:51 PM

I also wanted one. Thought we had this covered a few weeks ago? I may or may not be getting a front fender as well, depending on price. I assume it will ship separately from the pans, considering the irregular shape. Thanks to all who are arranging this!

BeamerBob - 22-5-2013 at 02:11 PM

Chris if you've talked to dirtslide and go by Chris 2 then you are indeed covered. It's probably better to do the fender separately to make the plates a flat package.

dirtslide - 22-5-2013 at 03:04 PM

Yes Chris one of the three that are coming our way is indeed yours for the MG . You can find out if the front fender is available by contact through Facebook o a U2U here. I have only seen fenders for Protask,Expedition and soon the Apexx .

jooopy - 22-5-2013 at 04:02 PM

Texas BB-

BeamerBob - 22-5-2013 at 04:58 PM

Ok joopy makes a total of 8. I'm asking for a price concession for an order this large so should know by morning.

dirtslide - 22-5-2013 at 05:58 PM

This is working out well ,thanks.

ChrisH - 22-5-2013 at 07:35 PM

Awesome, thanks guys!! Have been talking with dragonfly on FB about the fender, waiting for measurements now. :) Can't wait, this is gonna look awesome on the MG.

dirtslide - 22-5-2013 at 07:38 PM

:cool2:

buggeyed - 22-5-2013 at 08:46 PM

I'll take one,so thats one more for Canada

dragonfly carbon products - 24-5-2013 at 02:09 PM

Hi guys, where are you in your command ? is the command for usa, the same than canada ? same command ? At this this day, we saw that the protask guard fits on the mg aero fork, it looks nice, please mesure the distance between the side tube of your fork, to see if the guard can fit on !

dirtslide - 24-5-2013 at 08:58 PM

yes that is correct ,the order is for both Canadians and pilots from the USA as well. Bobby Muse will be the director for all of us so he will be making the order.

BeamerBob - 27-5-2013 at 05:58 PM

Ok, he says he will give me his best price sometime today but I haven't heard from him. This is the order as I have it.
Ken 1
Ken3
Rocfighter
I make 4.
Bug eyed makes 5
Joopy from TX makes 6.
MDK wants 2 so that makes 8?
Csadeadon makes 9. Caught that one from Facebook messages.
Did I miss anyone?

dirtslide - 27-5-2013 at 06:24 PM

that is correct Bug Eyed will have his sent up here with ours ,so that makes 4 for the NW. When they get to Bobby we could spilt them so that we get a order here in BC and I think Chris H and Csadeadon are in the same area so maybe they will try and get them out to them that way.

buggeyed - 27-5-2013 at 06:28 PM

I wanted one to fit my Apex.Mine can be shipped with the others to BC.
Just let me know who to make my payment to.

BeamerBob - 27-5-2013 at 06:36 PM

I will work out the money with everyone after I get his final price. Should be a decent discount with 9 of them in 1 shipment.

ChrisH - 27-5-2013 at 06:38 PM

You are correct, CSAdeadon and I are in the same area...kinda. Close enough, anyway :)

Dragonfly....The measurement between my fork is 10.625 inches, or 26.9875 centimeters. I would like a price please. U2U sent. Thanks!!

RonH - 27-5-2013 at 08:59 PM

It seems that it was decided that all US kiters are Chris and all Canadian kiters are Ken... Fueled by the talk at buggy camp!

Now you only have to remember Chris or Ken.

dirtslide - 28-5-2013 at 08:21 AM

:D

BeamerBob - 28-5-2013 at 09:23 PM

Still no final price and its almost Wednesday for him.

rocfighter - 29-5-2013 at 06:36 AM

Sorry I have been away for a while and I fell behind in this thread. I s $60 USD the price shipped to the US and then shipping from Boobie to me on top? This seems very reasonable. My issue is with mounting on a Libre. I know buggies like the Apex have lower frame supports. Mine only has the side rails. My seat bottom is bellow my axle height. I suppose I can shim it down.
OH also do I need to change my name to Chris if I get this? That's a lot of paperwork.

BeamerBob - 29-5-2013 at 06:39 AM

Yours will cost extra for the "Boobie". That is close to the basic price. I'm negotiating for a better price for the volume but he's dragging his feet in his response. All I got yesterday was an address confirmation question.

rocfighter - 29-5-2013 at 06:41 AM

:(:o:evil:

BeamerBob - 29-5-2013 at 12:05 PM

ok, not really any price break and shipping to the US is expensive from France. Total price shipped to me would be $78 each. I would only charge actual fedex ground shipping through my account (30% less than retail) to get your plate to you.

Rocfighter, I had a change of heart and you can pay only as much as everyone else now. :D

If this is still a go for everyone, buyers can send me their money and I'll get the order on the way. If anyone is hesitant, it won't affect pricing to the rest of us if you are no longer interested. Really though, $13 each for shipping here from France shouldn't be a deal breaker.

ChrisH - 29-5-2013 at 05:12 PM

Sorry to say but I'm gonna go ahead and back out. The small amount of extra cash I have is now going to kite repairs because I blew a cell at the beach the other day and popped a power line. Now I'm down to one kite and that isn't gonna work. Hope you all enjoy your new bling!

BeamerBob - 29-5-2013 at 05:30 PM

Csadeadon paid
Dirt slide and Ken3 check in the mail
Joopy paid
MDK paid
Rocfighter paid

Need payment from
Buggeyed

rocfighter - 30-5-2013 at 02:57 PM

Can I do paypal ? or would you like a check?

BeamerBob - 31-5-2013 at 09:26 AM

Buggeyed, the order can be placed if you can get me some funds.

dirtslide - 31-5-2013 at 09:44 AM

I know that he is at sobb this weekend so he may not be in contact with us at this time.

jooopy - 3-6-2013 at 01:42 PM

BeamerBob - 5-6-2013 at 07:57 AM

Turns out I misunderstood about where TDMCs funds were coming from. All in but his funds and he is on point to get it to me soon.

jooopy - 10-6-2013 at 10:31 AM

Hello I'm looking for an update. Has Dragonfly shipped the product? If so do we have any idea when arriving stateside. Thank You~~~

BeamerBob - 10-6-2013 at 01:29 PM

Dragonfly will be shipping out on Friday. I'm not sure what this limitation was based on but he told me in his last email that he would be shipping Friday. I have money transferring to my paypal account but that should be finalized and money sent to Dragonfly today or tomorrow.

jooopy - 10-6-2013 at 05:24 PM

Thanks BeamerBob your work is well appreciated. Thanks to Dragonfly as well.

BTW did anyone order a fender directly?

dragonfly carbon products - 12-6-2013 at 11:35 PM

hi guys, still ready to send, just waiting for the paypal payment :bisou: !

BeamerBob - 13-6-2013 at 07:49 AM

It's not me we're waiting on. I sent a clarifying question on Tuesday and didn't hear back till this morning and even then he didn't answer the question. Time zones and language barrier are making this difficult.

jooopy - 13-6-2013 at 08:24 AM

Well is it a question we can re ask here in case he missed it Bob? Don't mean to get into anything personnel if not but if you think we can ask it LOUDER here sometimes it helps :alien: You call it though as you are our commander. Bought lasers from Europe before not so easy :bird: Thanks

BeamerBob - 13-6-2013 at 08:46 AM

Hoping to hear back from him soon. Paypal charges a premium to convert funds it turns out. I received some cash for payment on one of these and had to transfer my money and cover the cash in paypal. Had to wait 3 days for the bank transfer to put the money in paypal. When I attempted to send payment, it turned out that paypal's higher conversion rate put me short. I merely asked if he could ship with the lesser (18 euros) payment to be made up while more funds were transferring from my bank. I got emails back worried about what email address I use with paypal but no response to my question I sent on Tuesday. I can't just send the funds and let it withdraw from my verified bank account because my bank charges $25 for international transfers. That forces me to transfer money from bank to paypal before I send it intl.

I think this might be part time for him and he's busy with something else like work or school or who knows what. Add in the time zone and language differences and this is like swimming in quicksand. I mentioned to him that several of you were eagerly wanting the plates but I'm not sure it has an effect. Hoping we can work this out so he can hit his Friday shipping limitation.

Thanks everyone for your patience.

dirtslide - 13-6-2013 at 09:22 AM

Thanks for all the time spent on this project Bob. we all have to remember that good things come to those that wait;)

jooopy - 13-6-2013 at 12:59 PM

Hello Bob thats our bill if we need to cover it. Misunderstandings happen but I'm flexible. We are 24$ is like 18 Euros so if you want to figure what each of owes additional we can send it (speaking for myself) $3 each or something right? Can we all handle that to get the show on the road?

BeamerBob - 13-6-2013 at 01:06 PM

Well if 2 of you that haven't put anything towards shipping yet want to pitch in $10, paypal transfers are instant.

jooopy - 13-6-2013 at 01:51 PM

Took 1 for the team 10$ sent .

dragonfly carbon products - 13-6-2013 at 02:13 PM

Hi just read all the post, i am still waiting, nothing appears on paypal, i send a request with the mail of bob by paypal, it appears that is not the paypal account mail that bob is using, so i cancelled the request just right now, i send my paypal account and email , i wll aslo send my RIB, bank details account to bob, if it can help !

i ll try to check my email tomorrow all the day to the evening !

rocfighter - 13-6-2013 at 05:44 PM

Bobbie let me know if you need a bit more $. I'll have Chris send you some :P Not really. Just let me know.

BeamerBob - 13-6-2013 at 09:33 PM

See he still has no grasp that money in the account is the issue after 3 emails about it. It looks like $20 USD more prevents me from having to transfer money from my account to paypal. One already put in $10 towards his shipping.

BeamerBob - 14-6-2013 at 06:50 AM

Thanks for stepping up to those that put in extra. I have sent payment now.

dragonfly carbon products - 16-6-2013 at 10:48 AM

Hi guys, finally receive money !!! for next times, i ll propose to make 50/50 for the bank cost, it is very complicated and expensive (only in france ?) to use paypal, take 10% every payment, damn !! but package is still ready and going to the transporter this week, i put 2 extras models with new carbon design.

Thanks to all and also bob for his efforts !

BeamerBob - 16-6-2013 at 02:53 PM

Now I'll be watching down the street for the delivery guy! Thanks everyone for your patience.

jooopy - 16-6-2013 at 04:25 PM

Cant wait to see the new design. :)

dirtslide - 17-6-2013 at 08:51 AM

are we going to draw straws to see who gets the new designed pans ;)

after all the time and effort that Bob has put in and because he will see them first he will definitely have dib's on one of the new designed pans if he wants.

BeamerBob - 17-6-2013 at 09:34 AM

Mine MINE MINE!

But really.
I asked DragonFly about sizes and fit on various buggies. With his assertion that they are one size fits all, I'm a little nervous about how well they fit buggies. I'll take pics of each style and we will see which ones would work best for everyone's buggies. Honestly, I didn't do a great deal of extra work to get these on the way. It was just emails with the language barrier frustration. I guess the remail will take a bit of time but we'll make that happen promptly.

stephdip - 17-6-2013 at 11:03 AM

hey guys !!!

sorry i haven't paid attention to this post much but.. for future corespondence, if he's french and you need something translated in either french to english or vise versa i would be more than happy to help you out..

if it can make things easier don't hesitate to let me know :)

cheers

Steff

dragonfly carbon products - 2-7-2013 at 12:08 PM

HI guys, package on the way, delate cause the customers kept the package to getme somes extra taxes ahah :(, so hope you having the package monday !

The french tracking number doesn't work in usa, it ll be changed asap he arrives and then i ll be able to give you the new numbers !

jooopy - 2-7-2013 at 04:52 PM

what? you didnt ship my order for 2 weeks and forgot to tell me till now? maybe i need a translation here.... stephdip??

ChrisH - 2-7-2013 at 05:44 PM

Customs shenanigans....meaning customs kept it like they often do, that's why it's delayed.

jooopy - 2-7-2013 at 07:19 PM

i see it now i read customers but he meant customs.

rocfighter - 3-7-2013 at 04:40 AM

So far this reminds me of a Steven Write joke. " Some times I talk to myself fluently in a language I don't understand" It's easy to get confused.

stephdip - 3-7-2013 at 05:12 AM

yep that 's what he's saying.. i will send him a PM in french to get it confirmed.. and will report back ;)

Steff

stephdip - 3-7-2013 at 05:25 AM

U2U sent :)

i asked him to confirm that he did send it a few weeks ago and that costoms held it in order to get more taxes from him..

also asked to get the french tracking # this way you can track it from their provider until it is switched over.. at least this way you will know when the package leaves the country of origin..
and asked how long did the service he used said they would take to ship an international package.. 4 to 6 days or 4 to 6 weeks ?!?!?!?!?!

i will translate and post his reply or i can copy past it in a U2U to Jooopy :)

Steff

jooopy - 12-7-2013 at 11:40 AM

I made contact today with Dragonfly today and I know BeamerBob has also been trying to get tracking digits on our order. According to what Dragonfly can see the order continues to be held by Customs prior to coming to the USA. I'm still waiting patiently :P Hopefully these items will not be held longer than next week. ~JimmY

BeamerBob - 12-7-2013 at 12:05 PM

I know it took almost 5 months for Stephan to get his buggy from US to Netherlands last year. Customs can be an arbitrary black hole.

jooopy - 12-7-2013 at 12:15 PM

I am totally interested in doing a front Fender for VTT custom Stinger. Has anyone ordered aside from our group directly to get one of these made? Interested in quality fit pics and such. "Patients is a Virtue" What the heck is a virtue though?

Dragonfly Please tell me how to measure for a quote to make a Carbon Fiber FENDER.

BeamerBob - 13-7-2013 at 11:17 AM

The package has arrived! I'll get it open and post pics in the next few hours.

dirtslide - 13-7-2013 at 07:51 PM

:D great news.

tdmc96 - 13-7-2013 at 10:17 PM

SWEET!
Looking forward to the pics
