Kite certainly seems to be good in the lift department.

Scudley - 16-5-2013 at 06:10 PM

Here is what appears to be the same kite in a race. Seem to have some speed too.

I was this is the higher aspect ratio Oscar

There is a very outrageous looking kite that comes through in the last few seconds.

What the heck was THAT ! :puzzled: or :eureka:

Bladerunner- Talking about the grey/white thing at 2:27 that appears to have just a insanely high A/R? I have no idea, but I want to know too.

Paging Indigo Wolf, o oracle of knowledge...

Maybe it was something from: http://www.kite-site.ru/

Bladerunner - 17-5-2013 at 06:40 AM

Yes , that is the one I'm talking about.

Almost looks like single skin ?

More help please !

Scudley - 18-5-2013 at 11:40 PM

OK, it has an interesting shape, but doesn't look like it flies that well. It is barely staying in the air and nearly two minutes off the pace coming out of the second turn on the first lap.
If it is an elf it is pre2005. Nothing like those weird ends on any the kites on their web site.

Scudley,

Any more info on this line of depowers? Sizes, prices, availability, made to order? Def has peaked my interest about a performance wing to replace my 11m frenzy. Looks like the closest distributers to me are in Canada. Just dreaming at this point:cool:

Scudley - 23-5-2013 at 02:51 PM

Chedderhead, have you been to http://sky-country.com/products/kites/oscar/ and http://sky-country.com/products/kites/nasca-2/ . the video the guy jumping is a Nasca 2. The race video is Oscar. If you use chrome it will translate automatically. The speeds are in m/s, to get knots multi 1.9. I haven't tried either of the kites, but all the other Sky Country kites I have flown have been pretty sweet. Dirtslide may have all kinds of other kites, but only his Reflexes have names.
Nasca 2 comes in 11m and 14m, Oscar in 11m and 15m. Nasca 2 both sizes and 11m Oscars are in stock in Kharkov Ukraine, For fifty euros extra they can get it to you in 10 days. prices are Nasca 2 $1600 and $1900; Oscars are $2000, $2300. The wait for an Oscar 15m is 6 to 8 weeks. My pencil will be much sharper for the first Nasca 2 and Oscar to come to North America.

Thanks Scudley, yes I've been to their site but don't have Chrome so it was merely looking at pictures. I'll have to upgrade:) Look like they make some quality kites!

crazyherb - 1-6-2013 at 09:40 PM

Blade, looks like a ParaskiFlex.

Bladerunner - 2-6-2013 at 09:52 AM

I think that's it!

Now back to the NaSCa ! Sweet kite. I hope somebody brings one in .

I am pretty sure the AlaSCa is still more my style. More snow kite than race kite. I really like the AlaSCa !

Scudley - 6-6-2013 at 12:38 PM

BR,
Oscar is the kite in the race video. NaSCa 2 is the one in the video with the floaty jumps. AlaSCa is their trainer/student kite. I think you need a NaSCa 2.

A closer look at the weird kite.

The kite is a Paraski-Flex. LX series which is their highest AR kite. You can tell by the control bar. Paraski-Flex bars are held near one end. All other kites are held in the middle.

The kite on the ground is also a Paraski-Flex. You land them and they just sit there till you want to launch. Great ground handling.
