Libre V-Max

Ok, I am thinking about getting Libre V-max but there are some questions I can't find answers anywhere. Some are Libre specific and some are general. Here we go.

1. Wheel options. Libre offers Midi wheels, Big Foot Light wheels and Big Foot wheels. Is is from small to big (or wider) size wise? Like Standard < Midi < Big Foot Light < Big Foot ? I can't find Midi wheel info anywhere. I wonder if they call "standard size" wheel Midi wheel or Midi is really mid between Big Foot Light and Standard or it is totally something different?

2. Rea Axel. Standard is 125 cm and they also have 135 cm and 145 cm options. Does 10 cm make a difference?

3. If I want to go for larger tires, do I need larger just in rear (leaving front standard size) or all 3 with larger tires have a definate advantage?

I will probably buggy on the beach most of time so probably need larger wheels than standard but don't want to put Monster wheels though.

Anybody who owns Libre or has knowledge on Libre buggies, any comment would be appreciated. Thanks - Brian

Midi = standard 480/8 wheel barrow tire on a 8x3" plastic rim
BF light = same rim as midi with 21x12x8" tire
BigFoot = 21x12x8" tire on a wider plastic rim designed for larger/wider tires.

If you are going to do any buggying on soft dry sand, you'll want the wider tires all around. Anything less and you'll only get frustrated. This means you'll need the wide fork to fit the wide tire in the front.

Wider axel feels more stable at speed, and helps hold more power, but has a larger turning radius too.

You might like the "truck" version with the goose-neck down tube, as this helps with lowering your center of gravity. Those 21" tires have you up higher than the standard 16" tires. It all depends on how you want to ride.

Hope that helps.

Hi Brian,

is a Libre the only option for you? How about a Viper, a BBS or XXRacer. They are decent buggies, too. Imho, they offer a lot better quality.

Maybe a look at:

will give you more options. I'll help translating, too

For the beach....

IMHO go for bigfoot full on the rear and a lite on the front, and get them grooved, get the widest axle and go for a swan neck or goose neck as you call it here, get a back rest made and lower your seat until your ass is about 2" off the deck....you will then be set up for plenty of wind plenty of power and a great days buggying without having to worry about tipping your buggy over. I run a 1.5 axles with aysemtric hubs which make the bigfoot tyre even wider and have never had a wheel off the floor yet which is exactly how I like it
