a friend from Ontario has to take his son to Philly for a few days mid June and was asking me whether it would be worthwhile taking his buggy to go
over to Wildwood area. I think it's been discussed about times of year when buggying can be done and avoiding busy season as well as other
regulations.
The question is whether he could buggy anywhere in that area between thurs June 13 to Sat June 15. Keeping in mind his skill level at this time I
would say is still novice.

I'm going to say no.
Wildwood is one of only two beaches with free access in NJ, thus it is very crowded during the summer.
It may be possible late afternoons once everybody is gone but something tells me you will get kicked out regardless.
Maybe Joe will chime in with this thoughts.

NO.... Kites are illegal on the beach during summer months. And it doesn't matter how crowded it isn't.

These guys are both spot on, Kiting is not allowed on the beach from Memorial Day till Labor Day.

Hey Mark, sorry it took so long to respond, just saw this post now....but the guys are pretty much dead on.....the beach is crowded and the local
ordinances (laws) do prohibit kiting of any kind.....

Thanks for all the replies - I thought that buggying wouldn't be an option in June and I let Steve know. I think he is going to make the drive over to
see the area anyway since he'll be fairly close by. Maybe it'll be enough to convince him to go back in the fall.

Ok guys here's the latest scoop.
I never go to Wildwood Labor Day weekend with any hopes of Buggying, way too crowded.
But when I saw at was supposed to be 72 degrees with NW winds 20 to 25 with gusts to 40 I knew that would blow everyone off the beach.
I arrived in Wildwood Saturday 5/25 around 1:00.
The view north and south from Apollo Beach revealed about 10 people, one beach patrol pick up truck, and no life guards.
I ask the two guys in the pick up if I was allowed to Buggy and Blokart. They knew what I was talking about because they had sat and watched us in
action many times.
I even gave the one guy info on Blokarts for he and his wife.
They said NO, as long as they were on the beach they are totally responsible for everyone's safety.
But the good news! They also said that when they go off duty at 5:30 it was OK, and that they were leaving today at 5:00.
Also the beach patrol/life guards are not on during the week till the end of June and we can play.
I've done this many time before and had some great sessions but have found that on nice sunny days with winds less than 15 there are too many people
to have fun.
I was on the beach buggying at 5:01, on people, no problem!
I played for 2 hrs. for some great rides with winds around 22.
The only problem was the gusts were from zero to 40. I gave up after dumping my Beamer in the surf for the 3rd time.
Sunday I went to Hobie Cat Beach just north of Sea Isle.
Only maybe 50 people on 3 miles of beach and NW winds 15 to 35 provided 5 hrs of great Blokarting with my BFF Ed Davis.
I'll be in Wildwood this week Tuesday 6/4 to Friday night most likely flying at Apollo Beach unless the winds are from the north. In that case I would
be at North Beach.
Low Tide Tuesday is 11:12, sunset 8:21, "Joy Buffet" 8:30.

Had a great day Buggying Thursday 6/6.
ESE at a steady 12 to 15.
Rode from the south end to the Convention Center from 11:00 to 5:30 with few people on the beach and No Problem with any authorities.
Next good low tides start Thursday 6/20 (11:04 AM) and run till Friday 6/26 (6:38 PM), Sunset 8:29.
