16 gusting to 43 I think I will stay in today...

That sure sounds like an ass-kicking, doesn't it?

Maybe I'll go fly my trainer until the bridle explodes under the load.

Yeah, you are smart to let that wind ride right on by.

I had 6mph NE, gusting 39mph SSE yesterday lol

27 gusting 45mph right now... Mellow day in the corn fields

I am training a new kite enthusiast and loaned him a kite yesterday. The wind last night was perfect. 5-10 with occasional gentle gusts. He had trouble working the brake lines. Today I get a text while I'm at work,

New guy: "hey, do you think it's cool to go fly today?"
Me: "What is the windspeed?"
New Guy: "Its gusting to 40." (I had loaned him a 3m FB)
Me: "Absolutely not. You will get lofted and hurt. Let's fly tomorrow"
New Guy: ... <silence>

I really hope he didn't go out. It was nasty.

Thats way gusty!

Last sunday i was trying to land board in 8 gusting to 20+ which is no way near as bad but still a silly idea.

After hitting the dirt 3 times and sorting out numerous tangles from the kite falling out of the sky in the lulls I decided to call it a day and go walk the dog instead.

Sometimes its just not worth it.
