Naish boxer

lucky_13 - 4-6-2013 at 08:17 PM

Hey all I'm looking at getting a naish boxer 05 16m any thoughts ? I will use it for land boarding maybe water who knows lol

Seriously, we need a sticky...

OLD LEI KITES ARE DEATH TRAPS. No depower, probably crappy QR and hard to relaunch, for starters. And over-priced without a doubt. Some say 2008 is a good place to start looking at kites, especially bow kites...

If you want a 16, ask me about my 2011 Cabrinha Crossbow!

Lol I've heard that about the older kites it dose have a 5th line conversion it's has the naish shift system line and bar.

Had an Airush Lift 16 with a fifth line on a Naish Shift bar too - the only reason I even flew it was cos it had the fifth line... there was NO depower to be had! Fine for a first kite ($100 it was) to beat the hell out of learning to land, launch and body drag, but proper riding for me didn't start until I got my 2010 XB 16...

You will have lots more fun with a Naish Ride or Park. If you are short of cash and hitting the second hand market then you should find a 2011 Park kicking around. 10m would be good to start if you are using it on land are average weight.

There are loads of brands of course and very little bad gear around in recent years but Naish is the one I know best and have flown longest. I have been flying Naish inflatables on snow since winter 2009 and water since end of last year. All their gear is awesome build quality, and well designed. + they seem to be the own brand that push the design envelope with sigma leading edges, 2 strut kites etc

Happy riding whatever kite you get

i have an O5 quiver 6m/12/16 . the are not for everyone. the best unhooked kite i have ever ridden. 12m by far my favorite. BUT you can do so much better with a modern depower.

most would consider them for "decoration only". don montague design them at the time a supreme unit for sure.

and heres the 12m in action on the landboard... fast with the loop and snappy indeed

Wow thanks for the advice guys .., yea cash is huge part of why I'm looking at older kites .. I also found a 13m best yarga 08 model and a best bularoo 07 model 13m both are in the right price range for me....

Bladerunner - 5-6-2013 at 06:29 AM

Bularoo sounds like the best of the options you present.

It is built with a reinforced leading edge for land. Similar to Waroo. I'm pretty sure the Yarga is still a C kite?

PHREERIDER - 5-6-2013 at 08:51 AM

bularoo would be choice

lucky_13 - 5-6-2013 at 10:15 AM

lucky_13 - 5-6-2013 at 02:37 PM

Ok guys I just checked out ikitesurf page and there is a ton to pick from !! So I know to look for 07 or newer what else ? my budget is 300 bucks . And I will use it mainly for land boarding . Also I'm looking for it to cover what my 9m frenzy can't ..

van - 5-6-2013 at 09:33 PM

All 3 of my Waroos that I have forsale are in that price range so I don't see why you need to look for older kites.

lucky_13 - 15-6-2013 at 10:24 AM

Ok guys so I took a chance on Craigslist and I have a slingshot fuel on the way . The guy said it was a 07 or 08 . But after looking at the pics it looks like a older kite. The bag in the pic looks like a 05 . What do u guys think bout the year ? If it is a older kite I will get rid of it to a more experience rider ..
