I am a paraplegic ,my injury is at L2-L3 and the doctors say the level of recovery is Asia c/d which means I can stand for short periods of time and also some walking if wearing ankle braces. I have 16 years of power kiting experience in kite surf, ATB,andkite buggy .My SCI happened 4 years ago when I had a 1500 lbs slab of concrete fall on me and jack knife my body until the spine snapped, after a year of recovery I started to kite buggy again ,the only mods that I had to add to my buggy is heel straps and foot bindings on my footpegs and I also use a three point lap belt because it didn't seem right to bind my feet and not belt into the buggy. If there is anything I can do to help let me know.also you can see video of me kiting on utube just put it dirtslide in your search.:D We have also made video of how a para can get in and out of the buggy .also at one time I have seen a kite buggy that steers by hand control in the way of leavers so if the pilot flies hooked in with a depower kite ,control the kite with one hand and steers with the other.

Dirtslide forgot to add that he is looking into getting his kite buggy instructors ticket from BKSA. Next year you should be able to come out to the west coast and get lessons from someone who understands kite buggying with a disability.
To get an example of of his teaching skills have a look at How to get into a kitebuggy. We did that in one take on his second attempt at transferring from chair to buggy and back: he is a natural showman.

Ken my wife was quite impressed with your video that Scud put up. She says now she is not thinking I'm so nutty for still trying so hard!! Your a real inspiration and I want to again thank you.
I just expanded my insanity and bought a used recumbent bike and we rode 9 miles on the bike trails yesterday. The best revenge to life's attacks is a fun day!!
