zloty - 12-10-2006 at 08:37 AM

12-20mph, 3-12m,wind was strongest at around 2pm.

FreeFlyFrog - 12-10-2006 at 11:07 AM

I've been thinking about going to pismo, is this open to anyone?

goreo95033 - 12-10-2006 at 11:23 AM

I was flying my blue 3m Samurai that day.

Pismo is a must do, if you haven't been there before. 4x4 is recommended, but you can do it with 2wd. M&S rated tires down to almost no air, or stick to the hard pack. My wife barried the rear of the truck up to the axel last time. That was an adventure...

I don't know if I'll make it yet. This Oct. is turning out to be pretty busy for me.

Lovely Vid there, wish I could make it

matthewlavin - 12-10-2006 at 11:58 PM

i've never been there. is it possible to bring my car if i only have 2wd?

zloty - 13-10-2006 at 01:25 PM

Like goreo say You can get away with 2WD,however it is easy to get stuck in soft sand,so You have to stay next to wather on hard packed.Keep in mind that once You get to camp at lower tide You will have to wait during high tide to be able to get back. You can park Your car on parking lot and take hour walk on catch a ride with someone.Low sports car Very not recomended.Everybody's welcome.Camping is $10 night at entrance. They have toilets every mile or so.

See You there...

DON321 - 14-10-2006 at 07:30 PM

Zloty,
IM IN, I will have to leave friday night since I cant get the day off, how long does it take you to get there? im guessing at least 3-3,1/2 hours?
you just take 101 south all the way down to main st right?

:smug:

zloty - 14-10-2006 at 11:04 PM

Four hours one way.You might consider staying home. After all 8 hours driving for 2 hours riding(if the wind is right)-that would be sick.

FreeFlyFrog - 15-10-2006 at 10:40 PM

Z, I saw you on the beach today flying your blade. After you left the winds came back with a vengence and the beach cleared. Sorry I didn't get a chance to say Hi. The other guy you were buggying with (forgot his name I'm real horrible at that) came by to say hi. He mentioned going out tomorrow early afternoon. Going to try to make it. need more practice.

zloty - 16-10-2006 at 09:17 PM

Hey FFFrog I'll be riping tomorrow.Forcast looking good.I was back Sunday at 6pm riding dry pond. That guy You meet his name is Elton.See You at 4pm.
So far We have six poeople and counting :spin::spin::spin:

FreeFlyFrog - 17-10-2006 at 01:24 AM

I saw elton today. Thought I could get a session in today at low tide, unfourtuntatly by the time I got to the beach the winds had REALLY picked up. I clocked an avreage of 20mph with a max of 28! To much for me and my 3m samurai. Elton was flying on a couple of the passes. He didn't stay long. Going to try again Tue.

What is the camping situation down there? Is there drinking water? I'm probably going to head down there a little earlier (TUE/WEN) and need to plan some logistics (How much beer to bring, what size cooler etc...lol). Looking forward to it. Maybe I'll see you tomorrow.

Wallrat - 17-10-2006 at 07:00 AM

You can camp anywhere south of the marker down the beach - forget what # it is but the ranger shack can tell you that. Its about a mile south of the southern entrance. Just make sure you park far enough away from the high tide mark, especially if there's waves! I've seen water get all the way up to the fence. Bring your own water.

zloty - 25-10-2006 at 09:52 PM

OK
My and my buddy will show up Friday and leave Sunday evening-confirmed.Plan B on Sat is to rent ATVs as wind dosen't look to good on that day.
Cheers

zloty - 26-10-2006 at 05:10 PM
