It's not parapacking but...

I decided to make myself a bit better line management system. I like the idea of keeping everything attached and something simple to keep the lines from getting tangled. This is initial idea I drew

I then cut it out of some 1/4" craft pine with a coping saw, It's just a simple winder shape with the trailing edge sized to have the handles attached. Using a Velcro strap right now. Will soon replace with bungee cord.

Sanded the edges smooth(ish) and it fits in the folds of the kite nicely.. Since it's bigger than a normal winder, the lines get wound very quickly.

What do you think?

That's almost exactly how I pack my kites...

All Peter Lynn kites come with their lines on a big plastic winder and have 2 Velcro straps on the kite stake sleeve. I sandwich the winder between the handles wrapped with the Velcro straps and wind the lines on the winder..... When I've wound the lines up to about a foot from the kite I slide 1 or both kite killers over the whole lot.

I also use a kite strap around the kite and handle/line bundle, and it fits into the bag nicely.

Put your handles in a sock or a bag and use them as a winder. The empty bag make for a good place for car keys and change while you are buggying.

I like my winders.. Had both kites up and ready to fly in a snap today. Folded and packed out just as quickly..
