Ozone snowkites 2014

UnknownAX - 29-8-2013 at 10:24 AM

Just FYI guys, it seems like Ozone is preparing to launch their 2014 snowkites! As always, they are completely redesigned:P and the colors have changed...like in 2013 it's your choice to decide whether you like or don't like them.:sniff: I read that they are also supposed to be priced lower than the previous models.

Access

Frenzy

Summit

I don't know what kind of winds they were out in but the Frenzy appeared to turn REAL fast especially when looped and the Summit turned crazy fast. It would be awesome to see the prices of high performance kites come down a bit.

I don't like white color for a kite.

When the Summit came out last year, I figured it was an example of what ozone would switch all kites to that staggered pattern. I rather like it.

I was hoping Ozone would be a little more dramatic with the design change this year as opposed to last year, but I do look forward to the performance improvements that they mentioned with the Access and Frenzy.

I also like that they're finally adding a 15M snowkite to their overall lineup--something that can compete with the bigger HQ and Flysurfer foil Kites.

The OP of that German forum that UnknownAX posted mentioned that the kites "have become alot cheaper." Are they referring to the 2014 kites? If so, then Ozone must have found a way to reduce costs, which would be good news for someone on a budget.

They're refferring to the 2014 models. I guess it isn't too hard for them to price the kites a little lower, because they've upped the price every year since 2010 without any real change in their kites...

I just hope this price drop doesn't have any negative effect on their quality, etc.

I was kind of hoping they would drop the white leading edge :( I have been waiting to get a 6m Access because I didn't like the 2013 design.

Now that is a development! its about time Ozone went with the industry standard.

They could have flared the top a little more but otherwise it looks really slick :)

Not that my 2012 bar will need replacing any time soon!

Found all three kites on a European online shop, which lists the prices in Swiss Francs.

They are not in stock yet, but what I can infer is the possibility that, on average, the 2014 kites may be priced as much as 25% lower than the MSRP of the 2013 kites.

The 2014 Access, for example, has a price of 740 CHF ($790 USD), while the original, undiscounted price of the 2013 Access on that same store is 1030 CHF ($1100 USD). I'm hoping both of these prices are for the 4M kite complete.

Additionally, the store posted the color layouts and bag designs for all three 2014 snowkites.

Notice how Ozone reshuffled the colors for the 2014 Access sizes:

I'm with you. They really look at lot more yellow (and stay yellow) when you get done peeing on them. Anyone wanna buy my old yellow Guerilla? :)
