I am no longer a stranger in the ways of the kite surfer…with absolutely no hope of yesterdays side shore wind turning onshore and using my buggy or
atb as an excuse again..i took to the water for the first time..i only started flying to become a water guy but found out its very wet and cold and
even more lonely in the ocean by yourself than it could ever be on the beach…2 yrs it took me to get the yarbles to head out there..really wanted to
make sure I had everything as close to right as I could…I wanted to do this by myself and do it safely and be kinda comfortable about it…11/12 kts
wind, 9m kite strapped surf board..I logged about an hour total..I water dragged a bit and stood and rode a bit both ways, came out walked back up
wind and went again…my kite was a bit undersized but that’s what I wanted for day 1 and it did everything I asked of it..i was very bothered I went in
w/ no knife but played every scenario in my head a zillion times and launched….in an hour I was more exhausted than a full day on land..i could barely
make the walk off the beach…I hope to give this a try again before winter on flat water maybe even in some shallows…I tend not to do things the easy
way…I may now be the worlds worst kite surfer, but I am one none the less..:Dcheezycheese - 7-10-2013 at 10:33 AM

Hey, if you managed to get some short rides both ways on your first day in the water you should be feeling pretty pleased with yourself right now I
think
Smaller kite and bigger board or wave board is a good way to start I think. Particularly when you are on your own.
Stick with it bud, it gets easier and a lot less tiring once you can stay upwind.PHREERIDER - 8-10-2013 at 08:35 AM
