yeah that's a scary vid...
it was back in the day of course though... modern kites don't have such an issue with lofting as the old skool LEIs did. Of course whos to know what
happens when you hit an air pocket like that on any kite! Sheesh.
Also probably say, this kite was a perfect model of an IN CONTROL kite rather than out of control like ya said 
If it was out of control he probably would of broken someone, he did an amazing job to pilot himself down.
