Charger - Twinskin Jacket

ride_wv - 30-10-2013 at 07:48 AM

My 12m Charger was busted up badly, well beyond reasonable repair. So...I opted to repurpose the ripstop. If this post successfully displays the pics you will see a Charger jacket that I created (with some help). It came out pretty well in my view and I plan to make a few more in other sizes. It's a twinskin! The inflate zipper makes for a BIG storage pocket and this coat even has the launch assist tab on there for something:puzzled: While I haven't tried, I don't think it will fly:lol:

At the very least I won't miss my Charger quite as much now. Anyone ever recycle their kite(s)?

That's pretty innovative. Good use of old ripstop.

markite - 30-10-2013 at 08:19 AM

you did a great job on that laying out the design in a thoughtful way and everything that went into it - I'm impressed.

Now see if you can sew a few bridles onto it that tuck into small pockets then pull them out and hook up to fly like a NPW just for kicks

cheezycheese - 30-10-2013 at 08:31 AM

Brian that is beyond cool...!!!

Cheddarhead - 30-10-2013 at 09:48 AM

One of the best uses of an old arc I've seen to date. Props!

soliver - 30-10-2013 at 04:28 PM

cheezycheese - 30-10-2013 at 04:30 PM

Bladerunner - 30-10-2013 at 04:42 PM

You're very creative and do beautiful work.
I would like one too. Please u2u me

I know it was only 12 meters, so if there is not enough material for Cheezys XXL I would love a large.

Send that pic and story to Peter Lynn. Willing to be they would get a kick out of it, and put you in a news letter or something. Super slick!!

mougl - 30-10-2013 at 05:41 PM

Amazing....want one bad!!!! Shared this with the other TR on the PLTR fb page. Did I mention I want one?

Or they'll just ignore him like they did everyone else with chargers!

Good job bro!

macboy - 30-10-2013 at 09:27 PM

Love it!

Thanks!

ride_wv - 31-10-2013 at 06:08 AM

Psyched and humbled by the feedback!
Thanks much.

I'd be happy to help those interested in a twinskin jacket get one. To be safe I could say four more from this kite is doable, but like snowflakes, no two would be the same. I'm not particularly quick about it, but in all seriousness if you think you might want one please hit me up and we'll work it out.

Again, thanks!!

abkayak - 31-10-2013 at 06:25 AM

insane job!!...no offense but couldn’t you come up w/ some busty model for us?? hope there are no Neo jackets in the future

ride_wv - 31-10-2013 at 06:55 AM

@abkayak thank you, I think. Photo credit goes to my six-year-old. As much as the idea of a casting session with models might appeal, I'm thinking my wife may frown on it. A fine suggestion though!

bobalooie57 - 31-10-2013 at 08:18 AM

It might not fly, but I bet if you held it open with the wind at your back, a nice downwinder on your board would be doable! Still looks crinkly! Nice job!

rocfighter - 31-10-2013 at 02:52 PM

What else can be said. They already said it all.
But this looks awesome. You need a Guerilla jacket!! With the guerilla on the back!

Cheddarhead - 1-11-2013 at 04:41 PM

I vote for a first gen Phantom jacket:evil: God forbid a phantom would ever meet that fate, but thinking it would be uber cool:cool:

tungsten - 6-11-2013 at 04:43 PM

Ruddy brilliant! "yeah I've been out today with my Charger 12 in 50kn you sissies"

Kober - 6-11-2013 at 08:02 PM

Very cool .... Bravo ....

Taper123 - 7-11-2013 at 05:47 PM

Double THumbs Up!!!!:thumbup::thumbup:

Snake - 7-11-2013 at 11:52 PM

That's amazing dude!. I shot you an email about possibly getting my hands on one. It makes me wonder if I could make one from one of my old guerillas. That would be the ultimate reincarnation for such a classic.
