It was a fun time even though I struggled to get much of kiting in.canuck - 20-12-2013 at 07:44 PM
Thanks for the link. Were you able to stay at the Wy High Country lodge? I really wanted to go this year but it filled up fast and I did not want to
trek in/out from Lovell every day.slopecat - 20-12-2013 at 09:27 PM
I spent two days at the Bear Lodge on Hwy. 14 before driving around to Lovell and up to the High Country Lodge. We stayed there from Wed. through Fri.
nights. They were packed and went out of our way to find room for us. Most of my party ended up sleeping on a floor every night.
We originally planned to drive in from Lovell Mon. through Fri. but didn't even get there until Wed. When we got there we realized coming in from
Lovell every night was going to be pretty tough so we did all we could to avoid that. Glad we were able to find a way to do so.
It was a tough trip for me. I was ill almost the whole time. It was bitter cold every day. The altitude was difficult for me with. It was my first
time in any real powedr and I didn't have good skis for that. The winds were light while we were there and that was good and bad I guess. If they were
really howling the low temperatures would have been unbearable.
I ended up with some minor frostbite on my nose the way it was.
Mix all those things together and I was really challenged. I still enjoyed it overall.ilivni - 20-12-2013 at 09:58 PM
The video made it seem to make for a real special kiting vacation:frog: Although I'm sure I would have the endurance for an event like that.ilivni - 20-12-2013 at 10:00 PM
What kite sizes were being flown ?canuck - 21-12-2013 at 11:51 AM

I was wondering how far south the Arctic air reached. The really cold days hit Calgary Dec 5 (high -20C) & 6 (high -25C low -30) with 30kph winds.
I wear a balaclava and goggles to cover up but it is still too cold when you stop and pack up or have to connect lines to a kite.rudeboysaude - 22-12-2013 at 08:25 AM
It was certainly cold.. especially sleeping in the tents! Each night I thought about how nice a room would have been! Good times and great people.
Peter Lynn even used a photo of Bryce on the top of Bald Mountain for marketing the Lynx on their website. Should be a great season this year! Can't
wait!
