OR....

  1. The program is launched.
  2. People get their packages.
  3. The drones become ubiquitous and people start taking them for granted.
  4. Someone creates drones that look like "Amazon" drones and does something "bad" with them.
  5. The backlash results in government intrusion that we could never have conceived of.

On the other hand, if nothing bad happens, expect local businesses to shut down at a record rate.... which in itself could be considered a "bad" thing.

Also expect a spike in complaints during inclement weather.

Falls under the "careful what you wish for" category.

Sam

They must be getting those copters for pennies. I would imagine there is a high margin for loss.

same thing as going through a flock of seagulls while buggying down the beach, turn around, land the kite, pick up the dead birds cut in half by my lines, and head back to the RV for a BBQ.

I have hit several birds with kites and lines while buggying, but never any injuries. Just pissed off and scared birds trying desperately to figure out which direction I am coming and going to stay out of my way :)

I'm thinking Amazon was a little too impatient to hold this announcement until April 1st.
