Hey ya'll...new to kiting and living Kingston, NY...not exactly kiting mecca given the lack of flat open space. Hoping to get into snowkiting this year and take it to the water next. I'll soon have to open the wallet a bit to get a real kite. Cheers!

Thanks for your help Rich, glad to hear there actually was a small glitch and it wasn't my wife sending out negative vibes for my kiting activity. Since the trainer face-planted her on Cape Cod, I've been working my way out of the kite doghouse! It's a real wealth of kite knowledge here alright...thanks for the welcome folks.

Welcome jrhook!! You'll be the first to open the wallet only a "bit" :D
There is more dust in my wallet than under my bed
Seriously though, welcome to a great sport with a lot of good people and knowledge in here.

Never too many kites

Yep, buy all of the kites. All of them. We will help you decide which one to buy next :) Oh, and get a good helmet.

Welcome to the sport! You can keep that wallet fat by buying kites on PKF, lots of great deals on kites here. Most people seem to take good care of them, too. It's hard not to buy them all ;)

3.5m kites have a habit of throwing unsuspecting flyers on their faces. Kite flying, seems so harmless!

Welcome! It's always exciting to see our community expanding, and yes, the classified section is your friend. At least half of my quiver are nice well cared for used kites from that section. Hopefully the Missus will come around to the kite thing, there are several of us gals on here.

Again, thanks for the welcome and yes, annieO, she perked up when I mentioned a 1.5m trainer! We spend 2 weeks on cape cod every year and a week near Ogunquit. She just wants to fly something that doesn't scare her...and I keep telling her there is nothing hotter than a kiteboarding girl, and I actually mean it!

As for tug hill...I'm hoping it happens. Being around that much kiting would be awesome and having access to lessons would be even better. Jim
