Tug Hill dump

vtliter - 11-12-2013 at 01:37 PM

The radio and tv weather folks have been declaring 2-3' of lake effect snow forecast to bury Tug Hill plateau today into tomorrow.
Can anyone on here attest to the veracity of these reports?

I also heard that Lake Effect snow will hammer NW. NY with 2ft+ of snow.

Most of the snow that fell is in that typical band from Pulaski north to Adams Center, then west to Lowville. Depths ranged from no snow in some areas, to as much as 49" in Redfield. We are supposed to get more(lake effect) over night into tomorrow, then a general snowfall for Sat.-Sun.(flurries) Unfortunately, we have not received permission to fly at any of our usual spots. I'm looking into some possibilities later today, but as soon as the lakes(Sandy Pond, Oneida) have frozen enough, at least those will be open.

Please keep us current on the status of "permitted" places to fly!
Shame to have such a huge playground and no access ;(

Time to check web cams , Ridgeview Lodge Lowville NY , www.northernchateau.com , maybe some others. Iceshanty.com for early ice reports from the ice fishing guys.
