So did anyone make any resolutions? I have carried forward the traditional "lose weight" resolution since I can't even remember. For a couple months,
I've been half working on that one, and started back to regular routine this week (so far I still hate it lol). I also was trying to think of one that
might be a bit out of the norm. I came up with one that is probably gonna be both easy and tough at the same time. I'm going to work hard at not
upgrading equipment/ toys until it's either completely unusable (wore out) or till I have fully used the potential of what I currently have. I was
dreaming the other day of wanting a nice new 21m speed 4 lotus, when it dawned upon me, that upgrading from my 19m speed 2 isn't by any stretch going
to make me a better kiter. I realized that I have been wanting to upgrade my gaming computer, when really a new setup isn't going to change what I can
play and how well I can play it. My snowboard is still in fantastic shape, but for no true reason, I wanted to buy a new one.
I guess in a round about way, it is to try and be happy with what I have. There will always be new gear and toys, to tempt me, and most of the time
wanting something new is hardly going to change much (other than having something new). Of course with this, I hope it will help me save my money, and
drive me to get more use out of what I all ready have. Eventually I hope I can come to the point where I am actually fully using the potential of my
gear, and can justify an upgrade. soliver - 8-1-2014 at 10:34 PM
I'm serious about losing weight... I finally crested over the 200 lb mark and have been working to shave off the pounds. I've been working out about
20 minutes a day and have made dietary changes as well for about a month or so now. I've been consistent and can at least feel a gain in endurance for
sure.
My work pants are too tight and the new PL divine harness I just bought last spring BARELY still fits (but is hella uncomfortable). That's just a
shame John Holgate - 8-1-2014 at 11:05 PM
I'm going to spend some serious time on the guitar this year. I think I could count the hours I've played over the last couple of years on two hands.
Bought myself a Line 6 HD300 so I can put some headphones on and blow my head off without upsetting my wife. I've been playing the same rubbish for
35 years....this year I'm gonna learn some new stuff!shaggs2riches - 8-1-2014 at 11:32 PM
I bought a seagull performer back in November. I have attempted a learning for 10years. Just the past two weeks, I have almost completed learning a my
first song. Too bad I can't sing worth crap though lol. John Holgate - 9-1-2014 at 02:17 AM

oops I thought this thread was going to be about GoPro or something....
I did decide not to be such a wimp about going kiting in the sea over winter which I am managing so far. Apart from keeping my hands warm which can be
tricky its not nearly as cold as it looks when you rock up in a warm car with the heater on!macboy - 9-1-2014 at 08:49 PM
That's what the beer is for! You'll sing real good once you've moistened your vocal chords enough!
I like your take on the gear....I said years ago that I'd be surprised if I use even 20% of my gear's potential but I still kept accumulating.
Bladerunner called me a gear junkie a few years back and he was dead right (and I'm OK with that )
I pared down a bit with RevPaul's clearout but still find an awful lot of ripstop around here. BUT I don't want to sell it off - I too want to wear it
out! I'm with ya. Let's each burn out ONE kite in the next 365 days. Deal? No tragic blowouts, no dogpark takedowns. Good old wear and tear riffclown - 9-1-2014 at 08:59 PM
My New Year's Resolution was to not make any resolutions.. So much for that idea.. ChrisH - 18-1-2014 at 08:34 PM
To be more positive and only affect other people's lives in a positive way. I think I forgot the old adage, "if you don't have anything nice to say,
don't say anything at all" for a while there. I don't wanna be the guy who only has negative things to say so it's time for change.
