Spring SOBB 2014

tdmc96 - 10-1-2014 at 10:19 AM

Inquiring minds need to know.
Does anyone know what the dates Will be for Spring SOBB 2014?
Will buggy camp still be there as I heard Phil was selling/sold his property.
I am trying to get a full week off from work this time as 3 days at the beach is not enough,
but need to know the dates.

Starting to have serious kitebuggy withdrawal

Cheers

Ken(K3)

Ron you are a bad man! lol
Can't wait to see what you guys dress the gnome up as this year! :D

Bladerunner - 12-1-2014 at 11:51 AM

The Canadian long weekend is the weekend before for some reason. May 19 Victoria Day.

Is SOBB's date set up to co-ordinate with tides or availability of buggy camp or something that would prevent us from trying to have this event encompass both of our long weekends in the future?

With my new work situation it is going to be hard to take holiday days for a while. Time will tell if I can take time off.

sunset-Jim - 29-4-2014 at 05:41 PM

Just n FYI for anybody that might be interested. Just saw a new business open up locally that rents travel trailers. I have no idea what the cost are o what all they have available. Their number is (503) 839-0882. Their card says that they set up and deliver. But if it will save some money, I can easily tow it for anybody.

ChrisH - 4-5-2014 at 01:54 PM

I am hoping to make it up for the spring event, the wife will be working but she is already oS-P-A-M-L-I-N-K-ed for the end of summer event.
She has 1 vacation a year and we choose to spend It with all of you. I don't know why, you are the strangest group of people I have ever come across but I love you guys for some weird reason.
I am hoping to sell my lumber mill and if I do, I will have the $300 it takes for fuel to make it up there. Its always about the $ dammit! I know I know , I should have listened to my mother and stayed in school!

So what about camp??? Eli? Sean? anyone?

sand flea - 18-5-2014 at 05:54 AM

Buggy Camp will be OPEN

Good luck with the mill, hope to see you soon!

You're right... Not 1 but 5 :evil::evil::evil:

Windy Heap - 19-5-2014 at 09:28 AM

As we'll be up and down on the coast that week, this sounds like fun, I could show up a day or two, and maybe get my buggy virgin cherry popped on a loaner or tandem ride.

Any suggested decent 3 star hotel/motels close-by in the area?

maybe stay down in Seaside, or up by the Columbia in Warrenton central downtown area?

sand flea - 19-5-2014 at 07:02 PM

Windy- with all those nice kites and you haven't been in a buggy?
I will be there on the weekends, let me know, I will bring you a buggy.

On motels, sorry not much help here, maybe go online to see what may be vacant at this time.

Spring SOBB...
come join us

Bladerunner - 20-5-2014 at 04:33 PM

While Seaside is best. Astoria is close enough to make it a reasonable option if stuff is getting booked up. Very interesting town !

We Canadians have used the Motel 6 many times. Cheap and clean. Great restaurant next door.

Windy Heap - 20-5-2014 at 05:27 PM

Myself being of "Canadian" dna and blood, my 95 year old bitter cynical "I grew up eating dirt and was happy to have it to eat" grandmother from ALBERTA, and my Calgarian parents would scorn you Canucks to a pulp...........you're not "from Canada" like a far off remote never heard of island location.

Being a born and raised Seattlite, I'm from Washington, not "the USA".

Geezus have pride you're from BC,...............dammmmit!!!............but then again, in the 'States, 98% of the educmacated public school produced braindead kids can't name even 2 or 3 of the Provinces. Nor who the Prime Minister is.

"Canada" is awesome, their navy is what, 4 canoes and some beaver pelts to hurl at the French? Of course you generated Terrance and Phillips from South Park, so the world thanks you, also:

The best sounding 3 guy band of the Rock Group Rush, Curling, R&R and Crown Royal, Kokanee Molsend and Labatts beer, and drinking age of 19............of course you can't forget to wear your Toque "toouk" wool hat in the winter, while listening to Bob and Doug McKenzie...........did I miss anything from up north of the Yukon and Artic Circle? Oh yeah, back bacon "Canadian style"......grins.

hugs to all, "aye"?

Go Detroit Red Wings.

Since folks from Alberta and B.C. attend this event and stay at the Motel, Canadians seems correct ? EH

Windy Heap - 21-5-2014 at 10:07 AM

I'll be there Tues/Wednesday next week, and will bring my Rosetta Stone "it's very very easy to learn French in 2804 hours using our Rosetta 12 DVD's set"

"Pardon me Sir, will you please hold my beer" = 'Pardonnez-moi Monsieur, tenez s'il vous plaît ma bière'

"Fly the kite left" = faites voler le cerf-volant quitté

"I am going too fast" = Je vais trop vite!!!

"what is that dog doing to the other beach dog?"

"how do I get the sand out of my butt crack?"

"This group of local cheerleader girls in thong bikinis jumping rope look fabulous don't you think? = Ce groupe de filles de majorette locales dans le saut à corde de bikinis de longe semble fabuleux vous ne pensez pas ?

"May I have my beer back, for me to share with them?"

"Damn you hunchback French buffoon, you have drank all my beer!!!"

'LOOK LOOK LOOK, Oh yes please do look up! Now a seagull has pooped in your eye!'

"Oh yes, the sunset IS very beautiful with all the kite fliers passed out on the beach, let me get my gopro camera for Youtube."

see ya'll next week. GRINS
