My new wheels

3shot - 18-1-2014 at 03:44 PM

Been over a month in the making but here is my new VTT Black Widow ride. Took me a few months to save up, but well worth the wait! World class craftsmanship! Couldn't be more pleased. Ready for some wind now!!!

A huge thank you to Mike at www.bigmikeskites.com for helping me acquire such a killer ride. Another huge thank you to Van at www.vantantech.com for the production of such a fine ride!!! If you want a great VTT ride, give Mike a shout.

Hope I didn't kill the pic with my ugly mug, but I'm super excited to own such a machine!

riffclown - 18-1-2014 at 04:49 PM

Jason... SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEETNESS!!!!

Rock on bro, really excited for you and your new ride, ...now you just need to turn your PL into a tandem to give the wifey, and little one a ride.

flyhighWNY - 19-1-2014 at 12:08 AM

OK so I'm selling gear to buy materials to build!!! and/or pay bills!! whatever gets me most $$!! Sweet ride!! Not sure how my Kite trike I carries my fat @$$ but it has not failed me yet!

van - 19-1-2014 at 02:01 AM

Glad I was able help you get the custom buggy you wanted. It's been a while since I built a full Black Widow buggy so it was fun.

BTW .. you did great with the paint job.

riffclown - 19-1-2014 at 06:37 AM

Looking forward to seeing it in action..TODAY!!!

WELDNGOD - 19-1-2014 at 07:18 AM

Heading up to 3shot's riding place.. Want to go? I'll text you the address..

3shot - 19-1-2014 at 07:27 AM

Over at my local school field WG. Not much room for long runs, but plenty of room for jibbing. Catch up with riff, he's leaving there around 10:30 ish.

No way ready to race. I'm still a young Padawan apprentice.

3shot - 19-1-2014 at 07:32 AM

Thanks Van, Spencer, Dirtslide, and flyhighWNY. Yeah. Super stoked!

ssayre - 19-1-2014 at 07:44 AM

That looks like one awesome buggy and comfortable as well.

WELDNGOD - 19-1-2014 at 08:33 AM

You guys have fun,be safe.
Later today I want to head to Va Beach and see how rideable a SW is just before low tide (4:00 pm).But the wind will have to hold up, if it drops, I won't waste the gas.

RedSky - 19-1-2014 at 08:38 AM

Looking at the first picture I thought it was small like a flexi or Libre but seeing you in it, unless you're 4ft tall then this is a BIG bug.

I really like the offset colour on the forks to match the stripes. What does VVT stand for?
I had a look on Big Mikes but I can't see it.

I have a question for Big Mike, is he around?

You can see an example of the contrast colored triple clamp/fork on the bottom of the page for the Black Widow.

It is a BIG buggy redsky. My phone tends to distort images a bit. I'm 6'2" and 210lbs. So not really a little dude. Here it is hanging off the back of my Suburban:

Comfy??? I could watch an 8 hour movie in it while in my living room. It's that comfortable!!!

Is that the voice of experience or just passing time while the paint dried? .. Excellent job on the pain BTW..

Thanks Wolf, I want to ask him about those rear wheels on the Stinger photo on his site. I love 'em.

I think Big Mike should start exporting his bugs over here.

Kober - 19-1-2014 at 07:23 PM

Congrats 3shot .....
... Its good to see you investing in proper gear just few month after you post simple questions about your first kite .... Its nice to see more and more people enjoying this awesome sport .... and most importantly staying here on PKF to support and help other new comers ....
... Now ... start getting some GoPro footage of that VTT power sliding and Reactor looping in air .... I know we will not need to wait long for that ....

Kober ....

riffclown - 19-1-2014 at 07:32 PM

We got footage today but it's going to take some time to go through. My mount was much shakier than I'd hoped so a lot of it just doesn't make the cut..

3shot - 19-1-2014 at 07:38 PM

Hey thanks Kober!
First. Van, the Black Widow ran like a rail today!
Yeah Kober, 3 firsts today. Maiden voyage of the VTT, first flight of the 4.5 Bullet, and first buggy vid with the GoPro Black 3+. Was really let down by the wind today, but did manage a few jibes. Had a great time with riffclown too. Lots of kites went up in the air today. The wind direction was great, but the gusts were just too much for consistent buggy runs. Can prolly edit all the vids to make a descent one though. Here's a few stills I pulled from the vids.
getting set up:

riff warming up on the 3m Crossfire:

The 4.5 Bullet

the 3.5 Rage

And borrowed riff's 2.8 Skydog

soliver - 19-1-2014 at 08:09 PM

Awesome shots! Looking good, & can't wait to see the vid.

riffclown - 19-1-2014 at 08:15 PM

And a few from my gear

Great stills riff!!!
Really had a blast today even if I'm still suffering from the new kite/buggy curse....

riffclown - 19-1-2014 at 08:43 PM

It was a blast.. Thanks for inviting me up..
And here's a few from the HeroHD we had mounted static.

Well, I guess we've successfully hijacked your thread.. Apologies...

3shot - 19-1-2014 at 08:51 PM

Oh Man. That double buggy pic is EPIC!!!!!

Tried the new software. now I feel.....

soliver - 20-1-2014 at 11:12 AM

Awesome.

rocfighter - 20-1-2014 at 01:04 PM

Gotta like that 4.0 SDT. Skydog has a whole new line of traction foils this year.
Sorry for the plug but I thought this awesome new buggy would need a bag full of awesome new kites!

3shot - 20-1-2014 at 01:06 PM

Yeah. I could prolly fit 3 new Toxics inside the buggy pack

acampbell - 20-1-2014 at 02:15 PM

Awesome ride. Can't wait to see the whole rig on the beach. I know you re going to tear it up with the first sea breeze.

Hee hee hee, got you daydreaming about those Toxics now, eh.:lol::lol::lol:

riffclown - 20-1-2014 at 05:30 PM

He's flown my Crossfires and has seen the difference a high aspect ratio can make.. I would take a Toxic or two myself. 8M please.. Incredibly beautiful kite.

Thank you Angus. I can't wait to share some sand with you guys at JIBE too. Of course, I'll be in the presence of some of the best buggiers in the country. Compared to that, I'll probably hold up more traffic than a funeral. I may not know what the hell I'm doing, but I'll look good not doing it anyway. Joking, I hope. Learning every day! LMAO

@soliver, um yeah. The force is strong with those Toxics

3shot - 2-4-2014 at 06:47 PM

Just getting ready for JIBE. A few graphic upgrades. Playing around with my NAPKA plates...

Kinda creepy but hey, it is a Black Widow buggy.

Kamikuza - 2-4-2014 at 07:00 PM

Bling! I like 'em... want to powder coat them half n' half :D

soliver - 3-4-2014 at 05:22 AM

Wow, that's NICE... Good work!

Kober - 3-4-2014 at 05:39 AM

looking good ...

3shot - 3-4-2014 at 05:22 PM

Thanks guys!

riffclown - 3-4-2014 at 05:25 PM

WELDNGOD - 3-4-2014 at 05:28 PM

I'm down with the most awful flu ever. Been down since last Friday, just can't shake it. But if y'all go,take vids

riffclown - 3-4-2014 at 05:30 PM

You need fresh air :) Seriously. Get well soon... We won't own the beach for much longer...

soliver - 3-4-2014 at 05:32 PM

Jason, did you make them yourself or did BEC do them?

Riff, If I can get all my garden turned over on Saturday. Been swamped out the last 2 weeks. Already missed my early peas :(
Lowtide is @ 8am. We'd have to be there at first light ish. However 6am winds forecasted NNE shifting to ENE by noon.

Donnie, get well soon bro! Maybe this fall we can all meet up and ride more often on da beach. Maybe have some post kite cook-outs somewhere too.

I made them bro. They are not BEC quality, but they turned out pretty good for a redneck with some tin snips and spray paint.

soliver - 3-4-2014 at 05:55 PM

They do look great! You did an awesome Job... Mine are very basic, but still in the works (imagine that,... I've been sidetracked hehehe)

3shot - 3-4-2014 at 06:14 PM

Thanks Spencer. My wife DOES NOT like "that spider". LOLOLOL
