This kite is like new and has been well cared for. 3shot is almost obsessive with the amount of care he put into his gear.

does the 4.5 pick you up easily?

im looking to jump but leaning towards a 5m

3shot - 12-3-2014 at 12:23 PM

It is not a safe kite for jumping. Sure it can lift you, but it can drop you too fast on the ground. You may want to look into depower kites for safer jumping. Any smaller fixed bridle kite is asking to get hurt for jumping. Even the 5m is too small for safe jumps IMHO.

@snapshot: Get a peter lynn twister 5.5 meter. Start out flying in light winds to get the feel for it, then gradually work your way up to winds you can jump in and never attempt jumping in gusty winds.

Edit: Snapshot I assume you have experience on a snapshot 2.5. Have you converted it to 4 lines yet? If not, you need some experience flying a 4 line kite before attempting jumping. That is the same kite I had to start with. I wanted to start jumping so I got a 4 meter twister. I can safely do small jumps with it but hind sight I would have gotten the 5.5 meter twister.

@3shot: That's a cool looking kite, how does it do in gusty inland wind and how is it's upwind ability?

I don't mean to hijack your post, but what size would you recommend for jumping (fixed bridle)

I'm willing to sacrifice the safety of depowerable kites. Helmet and knee pads are cheaper :D

EDIT: ok ill take a look

Yeah i got 4 lines on it right when i got it. (tried 2 lines the first flight)
Its fun, but I'm craving more power. I'm really only interested in recreational skidding/jumping.

@snapshot: Sorry for the short reply earlier. I was on my mobile. If you really want to jump on a fixed bridal, the more canopy you have over you, the better. Like ssayre said, the better experience you have, the safer your jumps will be. The 4.5 Bullet is a great kite for static/recreation, scudding, and buggy. Several kite peeps here can attest to the injuries from jumping with this model kite though. There are just better/safer choices for jumping. And yes, a helmet is a must! Regardless

@ssayre: I just wont fly in truly janky inland winds. Its too frustrating with any kite. It does really well in my 10-15mph inland winds. That is "my" safe target winds for this kite. Other's mileage may vary (and hope they offer their thoughts as well). For the buggy, anything more than say a 7mph gusts from average winds, and you start to break sideways from the pull. It pulls like a tank and is quick and very responsive. Most that own bullets, own more than just one because Its a great kite. It has a medium aspect ratio that does well upwind. Not super, but good!

@riffclown: Thanks for the kind comments!
