Today we had high wind and so I thought I'd give the buggy a shot. Field was wet and muddy so I drifted downwind towards some trees. Not good. I
didn't include any footage of the buggy run because it was too slow and uneventful.

Lol been there done that. I crashed/landed a peterlynn vapor in the Gulf of Mexico. Sad day when you are drying a 20' kite and dumping sand out of the
scoops.
Sad day to be a kite on a bad day...

Don't worry dman, your old kite survived unharmed. I was surprised.

Lucky. That could have been real bad.

Oh that sucks... Good thing it survived... Last summer I nose dived my absolute favorite kite (4m Core) onto wet sand on the 2nd day of JIBE and blew
out like 3 Cells... I seriously almost cried
Markite took it back home with him and fixed it nice... He's a great guy

ssayre: sad way to have a kite treat you. i had a day like that with my 2m hornet - almost took Ragden's head off. He was ok, the kite wasn't.
solver: Markite fixed mine too - there wasn't much left in the way of intact stitching or cells - and it's still my high-wind go-to.

Lucky for you its just a young sapling. At least you can reach up and grab it. My Blade 4.9 is still flapping in a tall spindly tree after 15 years.

been there done that in the local BC park. poor Mr. Martin had to walk through torn bushes and climb a tree for me.
crashed again into a small bush, and street light before.
rule of thumb
1. let go / release tension of any kind
2. if you can reach your kite disconnect the lines from the kite side
3. learn your bridle plan, LOL.
