Checking over the gear for IBB and found all 3 zippers on my 10m Synergy stuck. REALLY stuck !
I know this topic came up years ago ?
This was a salt water kite before I bought it and the zippers were sticky all along. I haven't flown the Syn for a year so it has sat in the kite shed
without heat and pretty high humidity for all that time. ( I did do them with wax back before I stored them ? )
Am I stuck ? :puzzled:
Just curious . I have heard of this on Arcs but wonder if it's an issue with Flysurfer zippers as well ?
[ Ha Ha, Flysurfer bags zipper was starting to stick . Still wonder if this happens on Flysurfer kites zippers? )

A soak in hot water helped me unfreeze a zipper on an arc before. Then I worked the sipper a few times and it was clean

You can also use vinegar. It will break down the salt.

Thanks,
I'll give those a try. Glad folks have had success !
I have sort of decided I will take my Pulse to fill the wind speed the 10m will but I still need to get them moving. Leaving the 10 will give me room
for the 460 and I almost never get to fly that kite .

I use SailKote by McLube http://www.mclubemarine.com/sailkote/
You can buy it at Marine Stores. I use it on my zips and pulleys. Its a dry lube and it prevents sand, salt, etc. from sticking to stuff and its
marketed for use on anything that slides. I think it would help free your zip and keep it free in the future.

I use Purell on my zipper. Works good!

Sailkote works well, there is also a marine product called salt away that will dissolve salt crust. silicone spray will also help your zip slip.
None of these will help Angus.

White candle wax used to be an old time remedy for sticky zippers

Ha Ha ,
I thought about you Angus when I wrote this. Nice to see the zipper is looking clean and healthy !
Yes, I had used zipper wax on the Syn not long before I stored it. That is why I am shocked to find all 3 jammed.

If I were you, I'd just move to Denver. Our zippers don't stick out here
Seriously, though, thanks for the tips. You salty dogs sold me a couple of bags with stuck zippers and I have always wondered...
