If it helps... I can definitely vouch for the quality of Van's work.

I have a few pieces of VTT stock: XR+ rail kit, Stinger rails with a Black Widow seat on a homebrew buggy, and a VTT trailer hitch buggy rack, and I can tell you from personal experience that VTT is grade A stuff, all the way.

Buy this buggy

Well, I was interested in kiteyakker's flexfoil buggy but... I'm new to kite buggying. Originally I thought that I'd give kiteboarding a go but I think I was kidding myself. I've been flying my HQ 300 every week for 6 or 7 weeks am looking for a buggy that i can handle as a beginner and that I can grow with. Will the widow be too much to handle for a rube like me?

Up the road from me is 70 acres of town owned property were I can go that will be a great place to learn. Eventually I can head to the CT shore where there are options as well. I'd love to go to Wildwood later this month but I'll be on a business trip that week.

Can the black widow be broken down to a reasonable size? Do you have any idea what the shipping would be like from CA to CT? The price does sound right.

Thanks

Van builds a great buggy. He stands behind his work and is one of the top builders. You can surely trust his work.

1more. You may want to inquire about the distance between the side rails. Van custom builds these for the original owner's body size. I think he builds anywhere from 17"--22" center rail to center rail. Mine is 20" CC and I am 6'2", 210lbs and a 36" waist if that gives you a reference.

4 bolts and the back axle comes right off for easier transport.

And yes, this would be a great buggy to own!

You can normally squeeze everything into two box. one with the 3 tires and the other (12x12x54) holds the rest. Lots of newspaper or peanuts to keep it from rattling. Shipping is probably around $60 for the big box and $30 for the tires.

You might want to show them pics of the original bug without the plates. The contrast in green and black really shows.

The black widow is a beginner / intermediate buggy so will work for anyone. I don't recall the exact size of that buggy so it would be good to measure the distance between the rails.
