I just got back from my first flight in winds over about 15mph. It was about 23-25, and gusting over 30.
I was getting dragged all over the place in 15, and thought it would be the same just stronger.
It WAS stronger and the kite moved so much faster. It reminded me that it is not a linear increase in force.
The wind did keep changing direction often, so it was a constant struggle not to fly out of the window. Even so I was scudding a hundred feet at a
go, and got quite rudely lifted off the ground a couple times.
All in all I'm well and truely hooked. All I hoped it would be, and more of a work out than I imagined.jonesing4wind - 26-11-2006 at 04:10 PM
Very cool to hear! What kite were you using?

Welcome to the OTHER SIDE. You will start to look at life differently now. Time to explain it to the family and friends !

Yeah, good luck going back to normal flying now. I see a new kite in your future, that is once you realize that it's not always blowing 25mph. and
flying the 3.6m in 12mph just won't feel the same.

The family and friends know already about my oddities. I took up highlining, rock climbing, etc...they expect it now. I was already looking at a
second kite. what do you all think of an ozone samuri 5.0 for 400$us new, with
all the lines, pack etc? To much too soon?scott540 - 26-11-2006 at 06:26 PM
My mom and dad were here for Thanksgiving and they wanted to see what all this kite talk was about so we went out to the fields. Got drug around a
little, got off the ground a little, fell a lot.... They just kind of looked at me funny and went back to the house. I stayed out for another hour.
Came home all grass stained, had a great time.leebrianh - 26-11-2006 at 06:53 PM
