recent hamstring tear shuts me down for several weeks straight, recovery is kinda slow but definitely improving. one of the the most painful
injuries yet and cannot be ignored. i have had complete tears before but this one merits full stop. solid 3 weeks or so maybe. 10days into recovery
and feel good about gains . definitely will have to be cautious next several months. its pushing things but i learning to rest ...learning curve seems
long for me. thankfully other projects have my attention, coupled with weak wind gonna learn to rest!
so if a pic thread shows up with a ton old pics and vids... maybe a gallery thread ! start with some JIBE stuff with all this time on my hands.

heal well my friend.PHREERIDER - 23-4-2014 at 06:51 AM
right on man! no doubt on the old bones , i think thats where wisdom protects us ...so its would seem. last few days have been good . acceptance of
limitations is currently adjusting my mind , at least temporarily. Kamikuza - 23-4-2014 at 06:58 AM
That sucks man... did it kiting or something annoyingly dull?
Heal up fast! PHREERIDER - 23-4-2014 at 07:56 AM
switched boards (flight 93 is done) and the griptape/strap didnot allow my foot to come out in a hop out .
was not moving much maybe 5mph, front foot comes out, back foot stays in, board jackknifes into ground in lowspeed hop out, my front foot hits the
ground and slips forward...full load split as i drop to ground ...POP! freak, i know, as and established reflex i was on the ground "WTF!" ...in my
therapy to deal with the trauma of the my mind. prolly HOPPED too hi, to allow board to catch with just enough speed to through me over and down
the board is so different than i'm used to. stiffer, higher platform, skate truck. rock hard tires, my old 93 was loose and slopped out , it
happens!Bladerunner - 23-4-2014 at 08:25 AM
Sorry to here you are on the sideline Chad.
When I sprained my ankle a similar way I found my aoxo on the buggy. I could get out for hours instead of minutes.
I am not sure if you even own a buggy but think this just may be your chance to drag your butt around in one for a while?
It took me much more than the 6 weeks it used to . I was over 50 at the time and smoke + walked 12+ miles each day at work. If not for the buggy I
would have pushed things even harder. I am very pleased that as I age chances are I can ride a good number of years after I am too brittle to ride
stand up in the buggy.
If not before, get your butt in a buggy at JIBE so you can enjoy more riding. PHREERIDER - 23-4-2014 at 08:52 AM
BR, may do some buggy time indeed. mostly focused on taking it easy over next several weeks. do some spectating skills stuff, we'll see how long
that last! , but gonna have some fun ...drone video stuff maybe,
will definitely have more time to help get people get going and offer advice. will take some sessions fo sho! time will tell and i will know how
hard and long i can go.flyguy0101 - 23-4-2014 at 09:18 AM
Phree- look forward to working on those spectating skills with you in a couple of weeks. Looking forward to seeing your drone, i just picked up a new
camera and am planning on bringing my rc paraglider - hoping to be able to use the updraft off the dunes down on the south endPHREERIDER - 23-4-2014 at 09:50 AM

Chad, sorry to hear about the injury. I'm sure you'll stay occupied though; we always can use more folks documenting cool videos, giving tips, etc.
Also, +1 for BR's idea of buggying. I'd love to see you in a buggy!PHREERIDER - 23-4-2014 at 07:20 PM

i"ll get more time but sitting has been difficult as ABKAYAK said, indeed true.
huge bruise ! practically azz to knee! Proletariat - 26-4-2014 at 03:29 PM
Bummer man
Your description of the injury reminds me of the worst snowboarding injury to get -- the one where you're going really fast, your heel edge slides
out, and you land on only one of your butt cheeks (but the other keeps going).
All you can do is hop around and feel mad amounts of pain and loads of embarrassment. But if you hear a rrrrriiip... well, I don't actually know what
happens then and I really don't want to. PHREERIDER - 5-5-2014 at 06:59 PM
