Pay as you go

macboy - 8-6-2014 at 09:14 PM

Hey all, wonder if someone can point me in the best direction here. We're hitting the road Friday for Oregon (HOORAY!!!) but have a plan up our sleeve to grab a pay-as-you-go SIM card when we cross the border to use for our two and a half weeks on that side of the fence. I'm bringing my old Motorola Atrix along for the task.

What's the best deal / best place to get the best pay-as-you-go data card? We don't care about the phone part so much but the data is crucial for our GPS/iPad/YouTube/work emails etc.

Thanks in advance for the advice and see you soon Oregon!

I use Telgo.ca whenever I cross the 49th. It's enough data for me and unlimited talk through Canada and the US. All it took was unlocking my iPhone - that was the best $50 I ever gave Rogers.

sign up with windmobile on their unlimited can/us monthly plan... cancel after a month

I use roammobility... works fine. not unlimited data though...

I forgot... the smallish seaside towns in Oregon, well you're looking at 2g for data:o

We'll be at Sunset on Saturday and Sunday if you're interested. All day Saturday and at least the morning on Sunday.

We're in Eugene (wife at a conference) until the 20th, then Florence, Newport, Newport and then Seaside on the 23rd for five glorious days. Back in Canada on the following Saturday so I'll probably miss any of the weekenders but will be there! My buggy's already there (thanks D) so I have no choice in the matter

Better check the tide tables......
