Here is the first official video from our amazing expedition to Iceland!
In April 2014, I was privileged to be part of the 4 People 6 Legs expedition, in which 4 people, with a total of 6 working legs between them, set out
and attempted a world 1st expedition.
Our goal was to become the first team including a paraplegic athlete to snowkite across Europe’s largest icecap, Vatnajökull in Iceland. We were
determined to prove that no matter the obstacles great things can be achieved, and in doing so support the pioneering work of Wings for Life, Spinal Cord Injury Research Foundation, a charity with the ambitious goal of finding a cure for spinal cord injury.
Take a look at this short film to see part of our story and find out how we got on!

Nice. Drone filming is so great!
Did you complete traverse?
I was surprised to see rescue vehicles just running on big tires and not some kind or tread system.:o
Was sickness just a bad flu or something more?

Sadly we weren't able to complete the crossing this time round.
By the time Sean had recovered the safe window for the crossing had passed - there's not enough snow from about mid May onwards.
Sean had picked up a bladder infection - which is quite a lot more serious for a paraplegic. He was hospitalised for a few days while they had him on
an antibiotic IV.
He's fine now though and we're planning a return to the glacier next year.
BTW - the in Iceland they prefer big tires to tracks if speed is of the essence. Whilst tracks will get through deeper snow, they're not as quick as a
truck on 44" or bigger tires. They run them down to about 2psi in the deep snow, but there is a limit on the depth of snow tires can handle though.

Nice video Kieron - too bad you couldn't complete it this year but I'm sure it provided invaluable experience for next year's go.

Wow,
Taking ill or getting injured would be one of my greatest fears in an attempt like that.
I hope it only gets you more interest when you try it again.

Kieron, your videography and editing were absolutely awesome... It's a bummer that you guys couldn't make the whole trip, but I'm sure you'll get it
done next year...
Looking forward to seeing the video then!
