Thanks for the PKF help. We hooked up with a JetPack portable wifi unit and 3 gigs of data which should last us to the end of the month. I'll let you
guys all know how it works on the coast when we clear Eugene on Friday afternoon (I feel like I'm in some sort of purgatory here....so close to the
coast yet stuck while the wife is conferencing.....painful......).
Anyway, if reports are good and anyone wants to take this thing off our hands I'll sell it off before we leave Seaside. Just U2U me if you might be
interested in getting one of these for less than half price. Otherwise I'll keep it for future trips. Might get two years out of it....you
know.....technology these days.
Update for those that are curious

Sitting in the wifi enabled tent at Fort Stevens thanks to the Verizon JetPack and getting one bar on 4g. It'll drop to 3G and give me 3 bars at peak,
2 bars stable. Not a bad little unit. The pay as you go was $60 for a 30 day 3 gig chunk. So far with work last week and just casual browsing and wifi
messaging with my wife while she was in her conference we've chewed up .8 gigs. That means it'll come with about 2 gigs of data if you want it.
Of course if the wind and weather don't cooperate it might have only a few Megs left....

They're great, especially the newer ones 4620 model or newer.
I'm putting mine on ebay, as it once was the sole webservice of the house and we now have cable.
Geez I'd go through 14-16 gig a month, really not that bad $$$, especially for someone mobile on the road.
