Who is planning to attend SOBB this time?

rocfighter - 18-7-2014 at 08:42 AM

I am thrilled to be able to attend this event. And meet some more of the odd folks I have been communicating with on here for years. I have had the pleasure of meeting some of you already (and you know who you are!) So who else is planning to attend?

BeamerBob - 18-7-2014 at 09:07 AM

I'm locked in and ready for some cool temps. This will be my first SOBB.

I'll make sure to bring it, Ken!

Bladerunner - 18-7-2014 at 05:22 PM

Rumour has it that our raise in pay means I won't get my contract renewed after all. So I am back on the fence? :(

Lot of good a raise does when it costs you your contract !

I was at Sunset this past weekend and it is in perfect condition, the beach was huge and the wind was strong. The entrance to the beach is in good shape and looks like it should remain in good shape until SOBB.

I stayed at Buggy Camp and it is with out a doubt the best condition it has ever been in thanks to Eli. The back lot has been mowed and there is much more room for camping or maybe a potato gun range....

Looking forward to meeting Roc and Jason and seeing Bob on the beach!

USA_Eli_A - 12-8-2014 at 09:05 AM

I can't believe it's just a little more than a couple weeks away! Phil the property owner has been keeping up on our progress. Meat Driver put in some hours on the lawn mower. It finally stopped smelling like burnt potato around the main tent area :)

Morrie Williams - 13-8-2014 at 09:06 AM

Incase anyone is interested, here are the tides for SOBB:

davegrimm1 - 14-8-2014 at 05:43 PM

We really want to show up but not sure whats going to happen, its always something. We caretake for my elderly mother in law and my sister in law that is her care giver decided to move out on the same stinking day that we were supposed to leave to go up to seaside.

So we may be here caring for Renny's mom instead of on a very much needed vacation. But we will stay hopeful. PRAY HARD!!!

We hope to see you all there.......

Dave and Renny Grimm

jellis - 15-8-2014 at 09:27 AM

Done, hoping you guys have a save journey to SOBB.

BeamerBob - 15-8-2014 at 10:14 AM

Counting the days! I'm all in now. The wife bought into the idea of the trip so no resistance there. I'll be in the camper now instead of the back of my car since it saves money across the whole kite/anniversary trip. I'll arrive on Friday and can stay through Monday.

davegrimm1 - 18-8-2014 at 07:55 PM

Things are looking up, It looks like the sister is waiting till we get back to move out and I got enough bug orders to pay for the week of wages I will be missing and trip costs. So much bad crap has happened around here, we gotta get away.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone again.

sand flea - 19-8-2014 at 04:48 AM

Excellent News Dave!

Looking forward to seeing you and Renny

sunset-Jim - 19-8-2014 at 07:31 AM

Apparently it was meant to be for you guys to make it Dave. Always good to see ya.

USA_Eli_A - 19-8-2014 at 10:14 AM

So far we have raised a fair bit of the lease for camp. Camp is a go, and is open if anyone comes down for a quick weekend.

Break down so far.
Jellis $200
Morrie $200
Meat Driver $120
USA_Eli_A $150

There are other verbal commitments. I can't wait for everyone to get here!

sand flea - 23-8-2014 at 08:21 AM

packing and prepping all my gear now.....
less than a week away....
gettin' a little excited....

anybody else?

rocfighter - 24-8-2014 at 06:55 AM

Getting all of our stuff packed. Only issue I'm having is getting my gear on the train in Seattle. (as we in the east know Amtrak is horrible. I guess it is not so friendly in the west either. Small carry-on luggage is all they allow. Well we will figure something out. 3.5 week full coastal camping trips need more than a carry on bag!! Amtrak

It's a problem that I wouldn't mind having. I'd love to be able to spend time buggying on the left coast.
Have a great trip!

BeamerBob - 24-8-2014 at 12:09 PM

I've started staging and planning. Plan to head out Wednesday am. It will be a 2 day trip for me.

rocfighter - 24-8-2014 at 01:53 PM

Bobby we leave tomorrow eve. And will get to SOBB on the 30th.
Howard We may have room in our luggage if you can fold up enough! But you need to be here by tomorrow.:D

:( As good as it sounds, I think I'll have to wait until WBB. See you there!

sand flea - 24-8-2014 at 04:17 PM

Come on Howard!

hiaguy - 24-8-2014 at 04:59 PM

Um... a little help here please?
Dave, I'll leave it to you to represent the Eastern crew.
Ken, remember to fly the red and white for us!

Bladerunner - 24-8-2014 at 08:31 PM

Ken #3 ( tdmc ) is the one who flies the flag high for us " Kenadians " . He has a giant mast that sets up under his tire so the red and white can be seen by all! He will be there flying for us all week.
I will only be able to show up for the weekend. :(

sand flea - 25-8-2014 at 04:52 AM

thats cool Howard
maybe next year.....

It will be nice to hang with the K Crew!

hiaguy - 25-8-2014 at 05:10 PM

Or maybe we can get more of you left-coasters to Wildwood?!

Have a great time y'all :wee:

sunset-Jim - 25-8-2014 at 08:01 PM

jellis - 26-8-2014 at 09:45 AM

Quit complaining Ken, you know you love my music!

BeamerBob - 27-8-2014 at 06:43 AM

Iphone is loaded up with 1200 + songs so we can have some variety. What does Morrie like to listen to?

sand flea - 27-8-2014 at 06:44 PM

I hope Scudley is coming......

davegrimm1 - 27-8-2014 at 08:31 PM

Its official, Today was my last day of work until the 8th. The wife and I are so spent from exhaustion , we can't afford not to come. Too many pans in the fire!

I hope y'all are ready for some cinnamon blueberry pancakes! We are leaving Thursday 3ish , staying overnight in a rest stop 35 minutes from seaside and be there Friday Am!

I just want to publicly thank everyone that is involved in putting this event together, I have not missed one yet, since Eli's Mom fed us on Sunset beach when I met the core group I think 12 years ago at wiskif.
Phil came up to me and asked me if I had a place to stay even though he had never seen me before, I said no and he told me to come over to his place. I have been there for sobb every year since then. It is our only vacation for the year and it is so much fun , relaxing, great food, great company, and a super cool sport.
We have people that are from every spectrum of society but we all come together with one common goal.
Spend as much time on the beach as possible and forget whats happening back home for at least a little while.
If you can't tell, We are stoked!!!

I can hardly wait!

See ya Saturday morning early

jellis - 28-8-2014 at 09:20 AM

September 5th 2003 was the start of SOBB. We've had many great years of fun and friendships but for me it is a family reunion with all my buggy brothers and sisters.
I am grateful to be in better health to enjoy SOBB and look forward to see each SOBBer. By the way I got here yesterday and jimmy said he was trying to save some wind for all, so he has been eating lots of beans.

sand flea - 28-8-2014 at 06:34 PM

ohhhh.... East wind

MeatŠriver - 29-8-2014 at 04:40 AM

Did someone say wind?! See you guys in 14.5 hrs!

jellis - 29-8-2014 at 06:31 PM

jellis - 30-8-2014 at 10:38 AM

Well i did enjoy getting back in the buggy seat. Even though it was a few short runs. I am suffering a bit for it today, but man was it worth it. TOTALY!

jy1zoom - 1-9-2014 at 08:14 AM

Anyone have a spare standard flexifoil buggy narrow freestyle axel can send back with the Vancouver Canadians? Cheers! Ive got a wide axel, which is a bit cumbersome for the local Garry Point park. Jeremy
