Long answer...
1) the boy's headed into high school and (believe it or not) as much as he wants to come, he doesn't want to miss classes and
2) wifey doesn't think the kids are old enough to look after themselves (and I agree) even though she resents that i take vacay time without her.

On top of that, while I'm "technically" still employed, I am no longer at the property I've managed for the past seven years and don't have another
location yet
That might cut my trip down by a couple of days, but it won't keep me at home
