Surfboard traction pad - front - FOUND

grigorib - 20-8-2014 at 06:49 AM

I'm looking for options and advice on a front traction pad for a directional kiteboard. The rear pad is nice and glued on but the front pad is small and came with a bolt-on strap.
Probably there are simple options for a bigger sticky foam pad for strapless riding.

i cut a ZAP arch bar in half and placed in forward position .

it worked perfect , 2 pieces about mid board roughly 8- 10" apart (pad center) , i'll snap a pic

the other options just use a rear tail pad and trim to what you want.

do the strap holes have any pad around them?

The front pad which comes under the strap is kind of small and seems to be thicker than necressary as it's three layer with a stiff plastic inside to hold shape.

I found a dakine pad that looks pretty suitable but who knows how big is it.

that looks good , just separate the the pads more, the gaps won't make a difference and actually give a ledge effect for forefoot/toes or arch/ heel

friends of mine have that board ...a little small for me and straps just get in the way, fun and fast.

here's where i'm at on my firewire sweet potato with split zarchbars
