For those who are interested we are having an optional buggy-a-thon to raise money for the American Cancer Society. If you are up for it, please
download the attached form and go ask your friends, family, co-workers, and anyone else that you can think of to sponsor your buggying and raise money
for a great cause. Distance is to be calculated from GPS reading and to be checked by Rich, Bruce or myself.
Also I would like to thank Sam (Indigo Wolf) for doing a great job on the pledge sheet.

another quick question!? Is this mileage count for 1 specific day or an accumulation over several days/ whole event. I know people will ask as
sponsorships may rely a bit on time limit or average miles logged! I logged a bunch last year and want to give accurate expectations to those
sponsors! ie. Flat donation to a specific amount of miles and per mile after that! Maybe use NJ taxi rates to calculate! shehatesmyhobbies - 2-10-2014 at 08:57 PM
I imagine you could do it whichever way each sponsor would like to do it. If you had some that wanted to sponsor one full day of riding make a note
of that on their line. If they want to do total event than specify that on their line. Whatever helps bring the dollars in for ACS!flyhighWNY - 2-10-2014 at 09:05 PM

Here is a copy of the e-mail I sent (feel free to plagiarize):
I hope this e-mail finds you well.
It's been said "to know me is to love me".
In my case: to know me is to know that I love flying kites and riding in my kite buggy.
Every spring and fall, I get together with a group of other kite flyers (men, women and kids) in Wildwood, New Jersey, for four days to enjoy our
selves at the expense of: nothing. Nothing left behind except lines in the sand and nothing taken away except smiles on our faces. Our next meeting is
during the week following Thanksgiving.
This year, the group has decided that we would buggy for a cause (the American Cancer Society, or in my case, the Canadian Cancer Society) since each
of us has ben touched in some way by cancer and we want to use our enjoyment for a better purpose.
Generally, I buggy between 50 and 70 kilometres during my four days at Wildwood. That may not seem like a lot, but it leaves me happy. This trip my
goal is 100 kilometres. (Of course, the wind has something to say about it, but I'm going to do my best.)
Which brings me to my point:
I am asking for your support by way of pledging a donation for each kilometre I ride. If you are able to help in a small way - even 10 or 25 cents per
kilometre - I will be pleased and honoured to ride for you too. Our mileage will be tracked by GPS, and a daily log will be kept for each of us. At
the end of the week, I will report back to you. If you would rather contribute a set amount, I'll gladly accept that too.
If you find that you're not in a position to contribute, that's OK too. We all have our priorities and all of us contribute in many different ways.
Either way, I look forward to hearing from you.
