... New foil from Gin is coming soon in 6 delicious flavors and 5 sizes .... So far there is only small amount of info that was released today ,
but it is exciting for me and surely Brian will be happy too .... Old Eskimo face graphic is back that was my favored for past few years as you see
in my profile photo ....
Sadly Gin is not planning to have those in US .... but if anyone is interested , I can help you get one .....
Caviar color would be my choice if I decide to get one and I am very interested what kind of bar and safety will be used. In Yeti and prototypes of
Sherpa 5th line safety work perfectly.
For 2015 Gin also is planning to release Uru II and Egoist ... LEI kites ......
I must say. I couldn't be more happier with the 8m Yeti I finally picked up a few months ago after I missed your sale.
Quite an all purpose size IMHO.B-Roc - 9-10-2014 at 09:15 AM
woohoo!! Now we just need to get some distribution in the States. Pic of the bar added below. I'd like to know bar lengths because Gin started to
shorten them on the 4 series and Yeti and I prefer a longer bar like the 2 and 3 series. Also wondering if they went back to a 3 pulley mixer or
stayed with a 2. Details from Gin below.
_________
The brand new ESKIMO combines all the strengths of the previous generations of GIN foil kites that have created GIN KITEBOARDINGs success on the snow:
the INUIT, the YETI and of course the ESKIMO!
Dedicated to discerning riders who are looking for a top quality kite with performance and accessible handling, the ESKIMO is a very versatile kite
for different riders and conditions:
Backcountry sessions exploring new terrain
Pure freestyle sessions
Easy freeride sessions for all levels of riders
The main characteristics are:
MAXIMUM STABILITY
The ESKIMO stays incredibly stable in the air in all situations:
Gusty winds during hard freeride sessions
Light wind sessions
Less experienced riders with low speed and a fully powered bar
The ESKIMO also stays secure on the ground when it's pulled by the 2 back lines handle.
PERFORMANCE
The high performance of the ESKIMO gives you a maximum of precision.
Easy upwind performances
Fast and precise turn in any wind conditions
Great lift and hang time
COMFORT, SAFETY AND ACCESSIBILITY
Most snowkite freestyle riders prefer a tube kite over a foil kite nowadays, so we were able to focus more on the comfort, safety and accessibility of
the ESKIMO. The ESKIMO will excite snowkiters of all levels, from extreme mountain backcountry riders to free riders cruising the flat spots.
FAST AND PRECISE FLIGHT
The handling of the ESKIMO is intuitive and precise
Just the right amount of bar pressure for good feedback and long tireless sessions
Fast turning speed
Great upwind performance
DEPOWER & 5TH LINE
Thanks to the new bridle system the ESKIMO benefits from a high depower in all situations
As a result of the 5th line: 100% depower after releasing the QR
SIZES: 7 / 9 / 11 / 13m2

Any idea of the price of these kites if they were to somehow come to America? I could see myself in a 9/13 combo and sell my 14/10/6 to get there.

If could afford to put dibs on something it'd be the 10m... Drat the lack of kite funds!!!!B-Roc - 14-10-2014 at 11:52 AM
Just got word that the Eskimo will be available in the US towards the end of October direct from Gin. Pricing likely to be a little less than
similarly sized 2014 Summits. Not sure if it will be on their website as such or if they'll be sold by inquiry only. Either way, they will be
available if you want them!rtz - 29-10-2014 at 07:25 PM
At one time; I read the Gin stuff was made in the Ozone factory? Was that true? Stuff still made there?
I can't comment on where they are made but I can tell you they have no distribution in the States yet and you can't select "US" at the link above. I
spoke with Fabienne earlier this month and was advised to contact Gin directly if in the States and they will share with you the the pricelist (which
I have) for US residents.
@Feyd - Gin typically does not post their A/R, span, bridle plan or any of the other "technical stuff" that other companies provide. They are
generally very responsive to inquiries and have helped me with line plans and dimensions in the past on the various models in my sig. I' sure they'd
share the A/R if asked. Eskimos are typically Frenzy/Montana like. My guess is an A/R somewhere between 3.8 - 4.1. Their emphasis from the 3 series
on up was to create more C shape to add stability and speed in turning so the projected A/R is lower but the performance better.Kober - 6-12-2014 at 10:14 AM
