The trip down memory lane over the cult Phantom has me thinking back on a lot of kites that have come and gone through this forum. Anyone have any
"where is it now" stories to share?
I know I've still got a set of Broozas from Pablo - the same Broozas that took me to the out n back at NABX in 2010. I still smile when I see the
playa mud smear on the 4m from dunking it in the ONLY water out on the playa. Of course I'd be the one to find it with my kite.....BeamerBob - 5-11-2014 at 07:07 AM

I have a 3.5m PL RII that was custom made in lightweight fabric made in a color scheme to match a set of Vapors for a PL team rider. From there it
went to BeamerBob who told me he consistently took it over 50mph on Ivanpah. From there I think it went to Don (tridude) then Utahtami, then me... I'm
excited to own this piece of kiting memorabilia.
I also have an 8.6m RII that was Angus's and a 5.5m RII that used to be Smeagol's who traded it for my 6.8m Viper S to complete his set.
I used to own a 5.1m Core that belonged to Cheezy and is now with KSkiteaddict (LOVED that kite), and a 3m Beamer V which I sold to a guy in NC who
sold it to WindyHeap.BeamerBob - 6-2-2015 at 08:38 AM
Soliver the 3.5 you speak of, I sold to Tridude. The PL team rider I got it from was Ricky Lui from Vancouver. I seemed to get quite a few kites from
him as he turned them over. erratic winds - 6-2-2015 at 08:44 AM
Just started this sport and you're flying a 4.9 Blade?
I'd leave that baby in the bag and mcse certification get plenty of hours under your belt with the Sting!

Whoever ended up with my Big Black Betty?EddyP - 6-2-2015 at 10:20 AM
Hmm, OK you got me intrigued. Got any pictures of this so called Big Black Betty? Demoknight - 6-2-2015 at 11:12 AM
Lol Eddy, it is the 8.0m HQ Toxic. I have a video of me buggying in 4-10mph winds with it. Very nice light wind kite, but I sold it last year to
help fund refreshing my quiver with three new Reactors.
I can remember my old faithful Beamer 5m I used when I first got into this , it was not my first power kite, but it was the one I flew more often than
not. I flew it at my first WBB, and eventually sold it to A PKF member Don't know where it went from there.
I know I have owned several passed along kites through PKF, including the eluding 6m phantom, and it was in cherry condition. Although I miss seeing
it in the trailer, I know the new owner is probably using it.
Probably the most nastalgic kite was the ol Prototype PL phantom 9m that used to belong to AJ. I bought it from Beamerbob, sent it off to Texas for
some repairs and added small spar pockets, got it back here did a few more repairs myself? I then sold it to lad and he flew it all the time,
including at WBB. It is now residing in CT with Craig, so at least I get to see it fly once in a while. Maybe I will swing a deal to get it back one
day. Although I have a really nice 9m, it's not the one made infamous by AJ.B-Roc - 6-2-2015 at 08:36 PM

Sorry but you've got me confused for someone else. Neither I nor my son have ever owned a Beamer and the only thing I've had brought home from WW was
Kober's 14m Eskimo. Or someone screwed me and took my Eskimo money and bought that and a Beamer and never told me :o
I often wonder who has my Bego 600. IIRC I sold it to someone here in CO but then never heard from them again. I hope it is well. I bought it from
SecondWind. I miss him and that kite. Tridude has or had my Pulse. I don't recall who I sold my 8.5 Blade or 4m Access to. I know my 7m JOJO
Instinct went to a VWBrian who I think moved to BC.
I miss the Access and Bego the most. They were great kites.

Sorry about that Broc, I think I did get you mixed up with someone else, my bad. I will edit that part, and try to remember exactly who got that.
Guess my memory isn't as great as I thought it was. abkayak - 7-2-2015 at 06:10 AM
What happened to the Calvin and Hobbes?hiaguy - 7-2-2015 at 10:03 AM
This is actually a sad story. While I don't want to raise an old spectre, and further conversation is not warranted (the damage was done), here is the
unfortunate link. http://www.powerkiteforum.com/viewthread.php?tid=28682#pid27...soliver - 7-2-2015 at 11:07 AM
Never did hear what came of the kite... That was a very unfortunate turn of events mougl - 10-3-2015 at 08:56 AM
hi everybody! It's been awhile since I've been on the forum here, but after getting promoted again at work time has become a commodity.between working
60 to 70 hours a week, having a toddler in the house, and the new motorcycle, kiting has kind of taken a backseat unfortunately. with the further
development in the area I live, places to ride have become even more few and far between. That's the main reason I've been a kiting ghost. If I had
places to ride, I'd make time.
Sad to see so many people getting out of the sport, and the biz. Bladerunner - 11-3-2015 at 04:40 AM
I wonder most about what happened with all sorts of kites and stuff I have given away or sold at bargain prices. Sadly in most cases that I have given
stuff away the member disappeared. I usually ask them to tell us all how it goes and to also " pay it forward ". It has been so disappointing that I
don't really feel like giving stuff away anymore.
Of them all I wonder what happened with my Skate Wing the MOST! It was pretty cool and worth a few $$ with 2 sails and all. sissorfighter had 50 posts
and then disappeared after he got the wings? :evil:bobalooie57 - 15-3-2015 at 11:06 AM
Was that Skate Wing like a wind surfer sail? I just hauled this "Wind Skate" out of storage, with a mind to try it out with a long board in an empty
parking lot. This wing doesn't have the bumper to rest on the board, you brace the padded lower edge against your leg. Got it from Dino long ago,
tried to use it in the buggy, didn't have the arm strength to hold it down!
